You overpaid if you: 1. Used the kid's lunch money 2. Spent the rent / mortgage money 3. Did not pay on your CC bill. 4. Had no $$ for gas and ran out of gas with new gun in hand And I agree about the 5.5" barrel. For me in .45 Colt and most other calibers it's a perfect barrel length. 😂😂 may have happened once or twice

I took Ralph's words to heart long ago. While I'm always looking for a really good deal,, and have been quite lucky in that area,, I try to keep Ralph's advice in the back of my mind. If it's something I want,, and have the money,, (without getting into any money necessary for bills & living,) I go ahead & buy. I also try & keep "gun funds" available as much as possible. In fact,, I TRY & keep "emergency" gun funds handy,, all while using a built up fund to buy something occasionally. Because sure as shooting,, if I decide to buy something,, a day or two later,, a smokin hot deal appears. And if I have "emergency gun money" I can snag the deal too!
But just like all of us,, I've been broke as a church mouse when a fair deal on something has appeared. And when that happens,, you try hard to figure out how to get the money while at the same time politely asking the seller to have a bit of patience in the sale.
But I also learned LONG ago,, that money can be made. Selling a gun and using the money for whatever,, will cause seller remorse. I can easily remember guns I sold,, but can't recall what the money was used for.

Say, anyone want to look up a serial number for a date of manufacture? 39-0551X That would kinda identify what batch it came out of. (Custom order, limited run, etc.)

+P in the ACP will make you leave it that way and use another gun for LC, ask me how I know.

If you think it's worth it, then it's worth it. Money is nothing but a piece of cloth. It's only real worth is what we think it is.

I bought one of these a few months back and kind of felt the same way about the price on it...but I just wanted it! I've haven't lost any weight lately so I must still be eating well even without the cash. It shoots the 45 LC well, also factory 45 ACP, however my 45 ACP handloads don't want to chamber in it so I must need to do a little better job of sizing or something. Planning to move in the not so distant future so it has been packed away and further load development of the ACP loads has been put on hold for the time being. It really is a nice gun though!

Are your ACP hand loads with cast or jacketed bullets? Have you had the throats opened up to .4525”?

I'm hoping to get some pin gauges to do some measuring on a bunch of my revolvers, unfortunately that will have to wait a bit for now. I have a 625 and a 325 for shooting 45 ACP in revolvers at this point in time. Thanks for pointing that out though, I was thinking it might be my handloading technique, but you are probably onto the real problem. I appreciate the insight.

Ya know, those guns were 650 bucks 20 years ago so it doesn’t seem out of place these days. Plus you don’t see them available very often.

I don't even remember how much mine was, but all it needed to be a stellar shooter was to open the throats to .4525". Mine wears the ACP cylinder most of the time too.
