I was naughty today. I shouldn't have spent the money but I couldn't leave it laying there. SKU 00472 New Model Blackhawk Satin Stainless Bisley 45 Convertable Colt / ACP 5 1/2 inch barrel
It was a grand plus tax. I feel I overpaid a bit. Maybe not, I'm not really sure. Being a limited run, one of my favorite calibers and the fact it is a 5.5 inch 45 I just couldn't say no. Bird in the hand and all I had to. What do yall think? Did I overpay? I think the 5.5 inch is just about perfect and I already have a small collection of limited run Bisleys so it fits my "collector" justification. The wife will be upset but she will get tired of sleeping on the couch.

Personally I don't focus on if I over pay unless it's something that borders on a stupid amount. I think you got a good deal. Did the money sitting in the bank give you as much joy and excitement as the Ruger in the hand. Money is possibilities or bills. Myself I get more happiness from the bird in hand than paying for overpriced groceries. Hope it shoots good. Enjoy

In 10 years are you going to be wishing you would have waited because they are so much cheaper now? Probably not.
You'll be sitting around the campfire joking about how you stole that one for only a grand.

Congratulations, I sure enjoy mine. I have noticed there has been a few recently offered on GB ~$850-900 but then add the GB fee, shipping & FFL fee and I think you right there. Let’s face it in the current environment that’s what they cost, you did good. BIG PLUS, the bird in hand. I concur w/ 1873colt.

I've missed enough guns over $100 or so on price that later I couldn't find at all, I only worry about getting the gun right, as long as I can afford it, it wasn't too much. A grand is what any revolver seems to go for now too. I think I paid $180 for my first Blackhawk, a used .41 mag 4-5/8" blued gun with a sweet trigger low mileage, and shiny bore. That was not this century though.

I think we've all done it!! It seems like lately I've stumbled on some good deals......but if I see something I really want and have funds available, I go for it!!

It sure does feel good in my hands. And as another responder pointed out, years from now when I am joking how I actually got one... I know a couple folks that have customs made just like this for many times more than I paid.

A wise old gun trader friend,, Ralph,, used to say; "You never pay too much,, just maybe a bit too soon!" RIP Ralph & thanks for the wisdom!
You did just fine.
Oh,, I just mailed a check out for an OM .45 Convertible that was just over a grand,, and I'm smiling too!

I have the same gun and have shooting it for ten-fifteen yrs. It’s one of my main 45 colts! Get the throats opened up, do a dinner table action job, it’s good to go!!! I traded it at one point but was lucky and glad to get it back 5yrs ago! Great gun!!

The last Ruger I would ever get rid of is a blued Bisley .45 Colt with a 5” barrel, and I wouldn’t sell it for a thousand. Does that answer your question ?

You overpaid if you:
1. Used the kid's lunch money 2. Spent the rent / mortgage money 3. Did not pay on your CC bill. 4. Had no $$ for gas and ran out of gas with new gun in hand
And I agree about the 5.5" barrel. For me in .45 Colt and most other calibers it's a perfect barrel length.

I just won an auction for a 2003 Accusport Bisley in 45 Colt only for $750. With Taxes, fees, and shipping, it’s about $900! You did just fine. Plus, I understand the Ruger’s made in the last several years have tighter 45 Colt chamber specs than the old accusport guns.
