Thank you, I purchased the S grade. This grade has the more realistic Schreger lines in the end grain. The R grade looks very good as well, but not as nice as the S grade. I added a photo of the bottom of the grips.

Which size Resin Ivory rod did you purchase to make the grips? I'm thinking about doing this.

Which size Resin Ivory rod did you purchase to make the grips? I'm thinking about doing this. The grip material is in a category called "Gun Grip Material" Blanks for 1911 and S.A.A. Here is the set I purchased Resin-Ivory+S™ SAA Gun Grip Panels Resin-Ivory+S™ SAA Revolver Grip Panels 2 slabs at 9/16" thick by 2.75+ wide by 4 inches + - long + S Top Grade/Grain. First of all and most importantly, great work on fit and finish, those look great!! I’m also impressed by the resin ivory, the grain looks surprisingly realistic. Overall fantastic addition to a couple of cool shooters.

Your pictures are the first I've seen by an end user of the finished product. Or at least the first ones that I was aware of what I was looking at. How does it work? I've got some experience with wood turning but haven't gotten into the resin based products yet.

The Resin Ivory is much easier to work with than those wood grips pictured. That wood was very hard and heavy, the ivory is consistent throughout the slab and sands well. It sure does make a pile of shavings and dust compared to wood. It might just be because its light color makes it easier to see. I hadn't made a set of grips in 14 years or so and these are the first one-piece grips I ever made, so the workability of this product is only my opinion.
