From back when life was simple AND good... No dovetail... No beavertail... Slide to frame fit is exceptional. Barrel lug fit not so good.

This one could go home with me... I'll pull the slide off and check the innards first. Slide to frame fit is a bit too tight for a Springfield of that era. Not looking for much, just evidence that bubba the butcher WAS NOT here..

Even a lot of high-dollar semi-custom (and custom) 1911s have less-than-stellar barrel fitting. I don't expect much from a production gun in that regard.

ALL high dollar semi-custom AND custom 1911s that live at my house DO have stellar barrel fitting. If not when they arrive, they are just passing through or are quickly fixed...
