Barrel, sights, mainspring housing, front strap work and it will be something to behold!

While this gun is commonly referred to as "Commander Length," it is, I believe, a bit shorter than a Commander. Standard 1911 barrel is 5 inches. Commander is 4.25 inches. This Springfield Champion is 4 inches. This thing uses a recoil spring plug like the Officers model. Thinking that will go south with the barrel and barrel bushing replacement. Might fit a beavertail grip safety. While I've never been one that the standard 1911A1 group safety bothered, the beavertail is just so much more comfortable to this old man's hands.

Then.... Sights.. On a carry type gun I sure do like the little adjustable sights that fit in a Novak cut. Have positive memories of a S&W revolver rear mounted on a 4 digit custom 40 years ago... The tenon mounted front is a complication that requires a little silver solder or... A dovetail.
