Now that I have found brass for 480 Ruger I'm venturing into the bullet search. Apparently Hornady and Speer no longer make that caliber.
I was hoping to get either Speer or Hornady bullets and use currently published load data that uses these now unavailable jacketed bullets. Apparently this will be a no-go as their heavy bullets are discontinued.
In a 325 to 400 grain bullet weight range what are you guys using for the 480 Ruger?
Matts? Missouri Bullet? Other?
I'd like jacketed but if cast is all I can find, so be it.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I just picked up a Freedom Arms model 83 475 Linebaugh. It came with a bunch of jacketed bullets. Mostly Hawk but some Speer. I can check this weekend when I'm home if you're interested. I cast my own bullets so the jacketed bullets don't really interest me all that much

Montana Bullet Works. Ten designs for the 475-caliber guns. Everything from a 420-grain freight train to a 295-grain deer hammer. And no, they are not the cheapest, but the quality has been excellent every time I've purchased from them.

That 375gr RF from Matt's looks like it would hit a real sweet spot in the 480R.

If you like tossing big chunks of lead, I advise you to take up casting. The 476-415 swc from Arsenal and the MP 475-640hp will cover all the bases.

I stumbled across 500 Rainier 325~ish grain JHP bullets from a member on another forum, for the price of postage. Best $17 I ever spent! I'm going to have to determine the appropriate location for a cannelure and sit down and apply one to them all one day... But I can deal with that.

I run his 375gr but get them unlubed then powder coat myself I tested them both ways, and I seem to get even better accuracy when I powder coat them myself I run them in a 475L but have tested them with 480 Ruger and get excellent results
