I joined this place in 2012 and made my first thread in March of that year. MajorKAP posted a thread about a gun earlier in 2009, link attached: singleactions.proboards.com/thread/820/custom-special-bowen-horvath-millerWhenever I saw that gun I thought "Those are the prettiest grips I've ever seen" and I still do. As with all people, MajorKAP went through a life/thought change as seen by the gorgeous El Dorados he recently sold on GB and made mention of having taken the grips and grip frame off of that gun to swap out for a steel grip frame and grips and that the grips might be available. Covet/lust/desire took over my fingers and voila', the grips live here now. I still think that these are the prettiest grips I've ever seen. They don't fit perfect TO the gun, but they are the perfect grips FOR the gun.

Agreed! Do you have any idea what wood they are made from?

I’d be proud of those grips too, especially with the history attached to them. Nice. The gun is not too shabby either.

That’s a right proper BBQ gun now. It would be fun to try and wear that one out for the rest of your life.

I'm trying not to buy any more gun related items but this gun currently lives in a zippered pouch.

The case colored base pin is an interesting touch that would be a nice addition to any blued gun.
The tones of the CCH go well with the coloring of the grips.
I think I'd look for a grip frame that's oversized to those grips and the mainframe then see if Bowen can fit it all without recoloring the frame.
A gold band on the mag cylinder might go well and set it off from the LR cylinder, or any amount of simple engraving.

Fine then just a minute or two with the Dremel and nobody will ever know the grips are a transplant

Here's a picture of the guy, Kathy Forster, look up her work. Darn you Todd, I'm calling Alan today. The frame is proud in one spot. Knowledge is power.
