INTERESTING AND INFORMATIVE.
ANOTHER SIDE OF THE COIN RE MONO-METAL BULLETS WOULD BE A STUDY USING THE "SOLIDS" (NON-EXPANDING/NON-FRACTURING).

Well written and thank you for the big share ! The only mono metal I tried was the Lehigh WFN-like solid in my 480. The slight taper at base allowed minimal flare as you said. I used Longshot, was happy with the load but no game taken. Congrats on the game taken, and GOOD SHOOTING !

I've always been really skeptical of the all copper bullets. Guess I might get some to try.

Cant put a price on real world experience. That article I am sure was expensive for the author but saves the rest of us a LOT of money. As many African hunters (and others) have said, the bullet is the cheapest part of the hunt.

Another piece of info that not everyone knows on the Cutting Edge bullets. The Laser that is used by all of the extreme long range shooters was designed as a hunting bullet. But during some testing in Vegas area they found that it was the most consistent bullet ever over the Doppler radar with all the bullets landing in a small area out at 2-3 miles that day. So we started using them in ELR and the rest is history. It is THE bullet in several calibers. The Laser is a great hunting bullet from a rifle. Petals come off a few inches in on animal then the base plows through.

Will the base typically penetrate fully through and exit elk sized critters at more challenging angles than broadside?

I had one go through about 3 feet of elk on a quartering shot and stop in hide on front of offside shoulder. The other on that trip was through both shoulders. Pass through dropped at the shot, the quartering one made it three steps. 300Win. Distance was enough that speed of bullets had come down a good bit.

Nice.
