Much like the boxers or briefs argument there is no right or wrong when it comes to grips. Pulled the original grips off my newest grip frame and installed some Pachmayer grips. Took the time to look at the packaging. Actually says "Made in the USA." Another thing I noted was Lyman owns Pachmayr.

Originals look like this. Look good in the box but absolutely did not fit my hand.

Some Thailand grips on the m36. Fit grood enough and shoot well. Cost about $30 from eBay.

J frames are the only platform that I prefer Hogues on, the ones that cover the backstrap. Without those a J is nearly unusable for me.

Still relatively young in the overall scheme of revolvers. I bought my first the summer I was 15. I've played with lots of different grips. I really like the used Herrett products I find on EBAY. Learned early on that the full size Pachmayr grips without the finger grooves fitted my draw and shoot activities best. The finger groove products work better when I'm shooting off hand and slow. Flash forward a few decades and I'm looking down my nose at the Miculek style grips that come on the S&W products. Now in an absolute epiphany the rationale behind Miculek style grips hit me. It is the speed loading! The wide flats and bumps simply muck it up. Round and smooth work best for me..

I like Jerry's grips. They fit me well. My hands are not large, his are. Odd that they work for both.

I'm looking for a pair of N frame, round butt without the covered back for my Smith 325. Thanks.

That's too bad, was looking for an open back model, round butt style. Looked on Lyman's website and they don't list anything for N frame of that nature really. Thanks for the links though.
Might try a pair of those on my j frame though.

Stan.... too bad, some of the old Pachmayr and Uncle Mike’s recoil attenuating grips are no longer listed: * J frame----Uncle Mike’s Boot Grip (2 piece, open backstrap; good for aluminum-frame .38 Specials). * J frame----Uncle Mike’s Combat Grip (2-piece, wrap around backstrap; good for .357 Mag). * N frame square butt----Pachmayr Gripper (1 piece, wrap around backstrap; good for .44 Mag). * N frame square butt----Pachmayr small Presentation (2 piece, wrap around backstrap; good for .44 Mag). * Super Blackhawk----Butler Creek or Uncle Mike’s, slimmer copy of Pachmyar Presentation. On the J frame grip thought I have grabbed a few sets of Herrett grips off EBAY through the years. While these were generally made to fit a specific hand, I find them generic enough to use on my guns and feel good.
