Cheesy, ugly and weird. But you know , I kind of like them. These are branded as S&W but I have seen as something else. Hogue maybe. Quite comfortable to tuck in pants for a quick trip I have actually forgot it was there. In shooting, nowhere near as awkward as they look to be.

Years ago I had a set from the company that claimed to invent that hook. I can't find them, and I can't remember the name now. They were great with khaki shorts in the summer.

Needsmostuff, that grip with the lip was made by DeSantis leather co. I have the shooting stars that Axehandle so nicely displayed but mine doesn't have the flare at the butt. They are made for a roundbutt J frame.

I've had so many (dozens) types of J-frame stock since I started carrying this sort of gun in the mid-Eighties, but the ones that control my gun in rapid .357 DA are not the showiest. But they ARE American-made (right over the mountain, in fact). As an apology for doing that to your eyes, here are some other American-made (with American materials!) J-frame stocks as a balm.
