I decided to turn this thread into a build thread instead of just a post about the grips. I will post updates as things get done going forward. Originally I wanted to go with a stag grip but decided I would go wood for now and happy I did. After looking at many different woods I decided to go with a Maple Burl and I am really pleased with the way they turned out. I have my Blackhawk 45 taken apart right now getting new case color hardening and new blueing and nitre blue screws. The grip frame will be headed out to be case color hardened with the rest of the frame now that the grips are complete. The grips are the first part of the build that is complete. Hopefully, now the rest will start falling into place.   |

Those came out nice. I was privy to see pictures of those as they were built.

I just found this thread, thanks for the opportunity to make the grips, and the wonderful compliments Joe, you made a great choice with the maple burl, it is so unique, and will never see another set remotely close to them
