Claiming you did it is enough to get trouble started. Nuff said, I’ve said my peace, it’s just a warning to not be stupid and spout actions that are questionable.

I hope PETA aren't a member on this forum. People Eating Tasty Animal wouldn't like what they read. LOL Hey Trey they would have to PROVE you did it. I think that would be hard. It wouldnt matter if they could prove it. Under the circumstances of either being attacked or using what was at hand to protect yourself, any rational person would protect themselves and has every right to do so! If they were in a trap and someone was too lazy to go grab a gun for a humane kill, thats where a problem might arise.

Killed my first with a .284win. Many with bows, 308, 44 mag and .22 longrifle (non trapped).
Regarding the use of a knife I’ll refer to an old Dracula Movie. A Texan was told to leave behind the Winchester and colt he had brought along for the fight as they were useless against the vampire. His Bowie knife would be perfect however for cutting off his head. His reply..”Mr, I’m not planning on getting that close to him”

I have a brand new bag of Win brass for that, but no rifle. I make 450 Bushmaster from it.

Only two firearms; 1886 Winchester in 40-82 and Shiloh Sharps 45-90.
Many of ya'll obviously have a lot of hogs! Conservation Dept. is doing all they can to eradicate the wild hogs. I think they're just holding their own. So far, as far as I know, the populations in Missouri is scattered. I liked to hunt them but I don't want to see a well established population.

I do have one. It is a Browning Micro Medalian. It belonged to my father in law. He gave it to me in 1995 before cancer took him.

I've never taken any hogs so I can't play here about that.
But James's comment about women,,, made me recall a conversation about 40 years ago. I was seriously dating this lady,, and she was a CNA,, and in school for her LPN. At that time,, AIDS was fairly new in general. She was training in a hospital, and was given the option of working with AIDS patients or not. It started a discussion about AIDS & past partners. She inquired if I could trace my "past" just in case something were to come up. (Remember,, they were just trying to figure out everything about AIDS & how it was transmitted.) I said that I could trace my past. After a few days of quiet & internal thinking,, I decided that "just in case" I'd make a list. I started a list,, and for several months,, I'd suddenly remember "another girl" to put on the list. With AIDS & all,, that thought process over several months kinda scared me a little. But I realized that due to the fact that AIDS was fairly new,, and the likelyhood of it being around me was very slim,, I finally quit putting names on that list,, and tore it up.
Now,, tell me about this "Skillet Head Sally" in Alpine,,,,,,,,,,!

I only see one of you posting as to using shotguns. No hogs here in N.E. Ohio. Anytime one makes it as close as Penn., James kills it.

I just didn’t include that along with bow kills in my original list. A slug is excellent hog medicine, it deflates them quickly. Trapr
