I have this exact gun in 375 Ruger, it's wonderful and I would totally grab one of these without hesitation.

Yes, something which actually tempts me to consider something even though I have absolutely no need for it. It's THAT appealing. And, even though I'm not a fan of the XX/77 line, that particular Hornet makes me want a Hornet.
Refreshing change from the myriad releases which either repulse me or leave me ambivalent.

At a price point that, given today’s economy, makes sense. Today’s $1000 is the $500 of 10 years ago. It’s bizarre, really, but those rifles at $1500 don’t make me suck through my teeth and walk away shaking my head. A .35 whelen in a current production bolt rifle makes SENSE and even though I know sales won’t be what the cartridge deserves, at least it will give the modern day aficionado of things that WORK from days gone by a chance to enjoy a new rifle.

Better get one before the scalpers buy them all up and they’re 3000 bucks.

My dealer is looking for me. A 35 Whelen is at least useful anywhere. Load it down to 35 Remington when wanted, run full throttle when needed. '06 brass is common and may spur manufacturers to make new runs of factory ammunition.

I have that Hawkeye in 358 Winchester and 275 Rigby... Now you're talking, the 358 Winchester, great cartridge. I recently built an AR10 in 358 Winchester and boy on boy does it shoot!!!

I regret buying my 275 Rigby. Beautiful, well made rifle.
But, I bought it because I gave up ever getting a Ruger #1 so chambered. Before I ever fired the Hawkeye, my LGS got me a Beautiful #1 275 Rigby with English Walnut.

I wish they would offer this version of the Hawkeye African in 223 Rem with a 1:8” twist. I wouldn’t turn my nose up at at a triple deuce either, but I’m actually starting to prefer the versatility of the fast twist 223. That used to be sacrilege because the 222 has always been my favorite varmint round.
