Excellent, what mold was he using and your load if you don’t mind. That is the MP 512-525. I cast with straight wheel weights and 2% tin, air cooled after casting and air cooled after powder coating. Using art pencils the bullet tested at 14 BHN after casting.

Well then mine is a different version of the 512-640, mine drops large hollowpoints at roughly 480gr, solids about 495gr. Varies a bit by the exact alloy blend of course.
Seems to have great potential though...

Yes, Bushy, I put a FO front in the gun. I’ve gotten used to them from competition and I like being able to see my sights in very low light. Plus I can shoot the sight similar to using gold bars by holding middle or bottom of FO in the rear notch.

I’ll send the pics of the other swine to Kev, for posting here as well,…3 pigs in 2 days with three different handguns was fun, especially since it was all free range pigs and spot and stalk.

Ok, FA97 in the perfect caliber for the platform (those that disagree are just wrong 😂) 41mag. It wears a Burris FF3 and is stupid accurate for such a small platform. Swift 210AF, took the piggy as she trotted past me at about 35 - 45 yards. Held the dot just on her nose and pressed. The other one pissed me off because I was trying to shoot doe and its little band of merry pigs came out of the brush and spooked them. So I set my tall shooting g sticks up African style and took the shot at 115yd. as she fed facing me. 300gr. Factory SP hit her in the top of the head on her left side and exited from her right side ribcage. No tracking g required, in fact I’d thought I had missed she fell down in the brush so fast and with the others scurrying about. FA555 50ae, SCI special edition Stalker, one of my favorite hunting guns, Thanks 45man. The second one cleaned up nicely and came home with me, the other was donated.

But its not at all confusing when looking at a loaded round... I could be wrong here but we wont admit to it if so...

In a good revolver and bullets less than 400gr. It’s a damn good big bore,….id say a .50 equivalent of a .480Ruger. Trapr

Don't you get bullet pull since it's a taper crimp cartridge?

Don't you get bullet pull since it's a taper crimp cartridge? That’s where limiting it to bullets less than 400gr comes into play. I actually limit it to 350gr. But have used a 380cast bullet with no issues. It’s funny because I get more bullet creep from comparable rimmed rounds and jacketed bullets, it makes me wonder if the taper crimp might just grip better around the surface of the bullet. If you have a good cannelure that’s perfect, look at the crimp on the 500L green bullet. But there is a nice crimp groove on the bullet, cast bullets generally provide an excellent place for a crimp. Jacketed cannelures tend to be shallow in my experience, unless you get into a grooved type cannelure. So far with jacketed bullets weighing 350gr. and velocities in the 1400’s I have had no issues with bullet creep. Trapr

I just started messing with the lee collet crimp dies for handguns. I have used them for 20 years or more in rifles. Anyway, they are absolutely outstanding so far and i priced a custom one for 41 mag since it isnt standard production. Price was $30. Something you could consider should an issue ever arise.
