I refrained from shooting any pigs yesterday even though I had three groups within 1/4 mile of me at one point. I went to check cows this evening and again told myself to not mess with them today. It’s COLD! While I was waiting for the water tank to fill, I walked to the end of the pens to look over a wheat field and some Johnson grass. I spotted so pigs in the JG but left them alone. I went back to my pickup and was waiting when it occurred to me that there were some fellas working around the house that might really appreciate some free meat. I grabbed the BFR and ran as fast as my old a$$ could to where I thought I might get a shot at the pigs. It was 4:45 and I knew those guys would be leaving soon. When I had them spotted I worked in to 80yds and sat down. I picked a bigger pig that I thought was well under 100# and waited for the most difficult angle it would give me. We are testing bullets remember. 😁 When the pig was all but facing me, I held high toward the back line and just off the shoulder before breaking the shot. She tried to follow the others but wasn’t feeling well. She made it about 30yds and stopped head down. A sure “Gut shot” is what I was thinking. When the opportunity presented itself, I sent another one into her with a high head hold at slightly over 100yds. That ended it real quick and in a hurry. I ran back to the pens and got my Atv for retrieval. I am racing the clock now! When I pulled up to her, first I noticed that she was considerably bigger than I thought, probably 150#, and my shots had both landed very close to point of aim. Good shooting from this old cowboy! It took a couple tries to get her loaded in the pickup and I headed back to the house. I met the guys as they were pulling out of my place onto the county road. I pointed to the back of the pickup and said “carnitas for you”. He said “for me?”. When he realized it was a gift, his eyes lit up like I had just given him a million bucks! He reached into his back seat and pulled out a hand carved “wrist rocket” that looks like a horses leg and handed to me. Now, I graduated from sling shots quite a while back but I graciously took his gift and thanked him. I will keep it forever and hopefully someday a grandkid will enjoy it! Pics will follow shortly. Poor service is killing the upload.

PLEASE POST A PICTURE OY YOUR BFR 357 Here you go sir. Straight out of the box. The venom is going to a different home tomorrow and a holosun is taking its place. Also a pick of the little missile doing the work. I just trade my 500 for another 357 so I have 4 of the .357 BFR’s now. The other 3 are destined for bigger bore projects.

That man has got to have feet tougher than a set of Goodyear radials. When I was a kid, I didn’t know what shoes were! Now I’m just soft, and my feet are the worst of it. If I even get them wet on accident now I’ll be In a bad mood all day long. 🤷🏽♂️

Good job on yet another one of the varmints! This getting kind of comical. I’m refraining from pig s today- oh what the … How do you do on diets? Well, I’ve never been one for diets and had always been active enough to stay pretty skinny. Older age and beer finally caught up to me and I gained some weight. I’m down 30# now since I’ve been building this house. Weigh 235#, but I’m 6’5” so I don’t look TOO fat. My freezer is stocked and I don’t like shooting them to let them lay to waste so I may not have anymore bullet testing until I find someone needing meat. I told those guys I would get them another pig when they came back next week. They are “varmints” by definition, but they are also a resource to me. I sell hunts and we eat more wild hog than any other meat.
