You know better than that Dave! You can outshoot and out hunt me blindfolded. I hope y’all can make it down soon while the hogs are so thick.

Thinking about a pig roast today. Nothing quite like a good Boston butt with potatoes and carrots

Good job on yet another one of the varmints! This getting kind of comical. I’m refraining from pig s today- oh what the … How do you do on diets? Well, I’ve never been one for diets and had always been active enough to stay pretty skinny. Older age and beer finally caught up to me and I gained some weight. I’m down 30# now since I’ve been building this house. Weigh 235#, but I’m 6’5” so I don’t look TOO fat. My freezer is stocked and I don’t like shooting them to let them lay to waste so I may not have anymore bullet testing until I find someone needing meat. I told those guys I would get them another pig when they came back next week. They are “varmints” by definition, but they are also a resource to me. I sell hunts and we eat more wild hog than any other meat. 6'5 and 235?! You gotta be built like a brick ----house! Gawd almighty Henry, nobody ever put a book on your head? LOL! I am 5'11 and 220 and I dont have much of a gut anymore. Good going on the meat gift. Folks like that really appreciate it. My Spanish friends are some of the most grateful people when I give them meat. I love the Carnitas y' mole, and the tamales. You could call your new slingshot the "Mare's Leg".

"I’ll trade you some pig hunting for something else to hunt. What do you have available in your area?"
I saw your other post about a hunt swap. Sadly,, I have nothing to offer. My area of Western NC,, doesn't have much except bear. And even I go as an "invite" to the guys who run the dogs & hunt bear. I don't own any bear dogs,, and not a member of any hunting clubs etc. Yes,, we do have some really nice bears in WNC,, but access to property and people to hunt with is hard to come by. I've never even taken a bear.
Now,, I do enjoy being barefoot. And yes,, my feet can take a lot of rough terrain. And yes,, I've been known to hunt barefoot. I even jumped out of a truck once, when the dogs were about 300 yds away,, and treed one for a few minutes, barefoot, to try & get to the bear. Didn't happen,, but the guys around me enjoy poking fun at me. But I am smart enough to wear shoes when I need to.

At one time in life I was a “specimen”. That time was LONG ago. Lots of prior injuries keep me out of the gym. My knee swelled up like a basketball a few weeks ago just from squatting and climbing ladders building this house! 🤦🏽♂️

Chuck, you are spinning yarns about my hunting and shooting prowess. I would like to get down this spring in april, new grandbaby coming and we will be visiting in Hays Kansas for 3-4 weeks according to Dawn. Might have time to come down for a couple days and try for a hog. Still have a 44 special that loves to kill hogs. I dig that you are back at the 357 mag with cast bullets. as we have talked before, still got to hit them right cause hogs will just run off and you will never see them again.

Yes sir, you know the drill. The 357 is something fun to play with right now but when the chips are down, I’m not sure that I will ever be totally confident in it. I’m still working on that part though. If the buck of a lifetime stepped out at 100yds today, I’d take the shot with the 357, but I’d still rather have something else…..like your 358 or 375! 😁

I love the 357's over almost all other cartridges. It is a fine hunting round when used inside it's capabilities. Plus for fun shooting, a Keith bullet at 1100 is hard to beat, and there's nearly no recoil.

Plus for fun shooting, a Keith bullet at 1100 is hard to beat, and there's nearly no recoil. Versatility is definitely not an issue with the 357’s. The only way I trust it to kill quickly is with good expansion. That’s why I’m testing the big HP at the moment. All of my prior experience has been good jacketed bullets and non expanding cast. Wasn’t happy with cast performance before but I’m liking what I’m seeing so far with this bullet.
