Paper punching loads in both ,plated and coated bullets used n revolvers. Going to be used in progressive machines so something spherical. Looking to buy a 8 lb jug.

I can highly recommend Titegroup and Bullseye for 9mm and 45 Auto, respectively.
Both are very economical and produce excellent accuracy at 4.0g each with a variety of jacketed and lead projectiles.
There are a lot of great powders for 9mm. I use Titegroup, Power Pistol and HS-6 the most as they are easily the most consistently accurate for me.
For 45 Auto, I use Bullseye and VV-N310 exclusively. I have had good accuracy with Clays at times. I’ve tried a lot of loads using 231 and it has never been as nearly consistently as accurate as the aforementioned.
Good luck!

Thanks gents! I use bullseye for the 45 acp. On a stainless revolver she is a real dirty girl! I’m just about ready to load for the 9mm so Im looking for a clean burning powder for both ,that meters well in a progressive . I like what I see in titegroup. Anyone use Cfe pistol? That caught my eye.

I've been using CFE Pistol for 900 - 1000 fps loads in my 41 Mag and I'm getting good accuracy and really low ES (17) and SD (7) numbers, also burns clean. Have not tried it in 45 or 9mm yet. I probably ought to give it a try in the 45, I notice the same thing with my S&W 625 with Bullseye, very dirty.

I'd try a few different ones to see which powder/bullet combo my guns preferred,, THEN buy in bulk.

WST, it's similar to W 231, check you burn rate chart but sometimes it's easier to find. I use it in both the 9mm & 45acp. Used it for many years in USPSA competition, also used it in 40 caliber in my S&W revolvers.

Paper punching loads in both ,plated and coated bullets used n revolvers. Going to be used in progressive machines so something spherical. Looking to buy a 8 lb jug. In keeping with your request for ball type powders, and depending on how tough those paper targets are, you might consider AA #5 or AA #7. #5 is pretty similar to W231, or #7 will take you neatly to the next level up. My favorite is #7 since I like to load on the hot side. Both are flash suppressed if that's a potential factor in your selection. Both are also normally a bit cheaper than other powders too.

I've seen good results from some titewad as well. Got four pounds due to a misunderstanding. I thought he had said that they had titegroup when I told them I would take it.
Fortunately Hogdon has data published and it meters well.
The International Clays I also bought by mistake has also done well in 45acp target loads. So well, I went and bought 3 more pounds.

Right now availability will dictate powder choices. H be it I person use a lot W231/HP38, Power Pistol, and Longshot. All of these have been available of late. CFE Pistol has been available and I hear good things with it but don’t have personal experience.
