What are your mold recommendations for a FA 83 454 Casull?
The only 45 caliber molds I have are:
Lyman 325gr GC double crimp grove (I don't remember the mold number)
Lyman 452424
Miha 45-270-SAA
I'm thinking something from Miha. So I can switch back and forth from HP to a solid.
Figured I'd gather a few suggestions before just ordering something.
I'd be interested in a good used mold if someone has something that would be a good fit.

What are you trying to do with the bullet? A fun plinker bullet? A high velo hunting bullet? A heavy hitter (seems you might have that one covered)?
Sure makes a difference one what is advised.

What are you trying to do with the bullet? A fun plinker bullet? A high velo hunting bullet? A heavy hitter (seems you might have that one covered)? Sure makes a difference one what is advised. Mostly plinking and Ohio Deer. The Miha 270 saa HP and the lyman 325gr will really do everything I need. But it never hurts to add another mold. |

The MP 45-340 is also a chunk of you want a heavy hp option, checked and powdercoated with the penta point it comes in at roughly 330 grains.

The Miha 452 460 or the 45 SAA will get you any where you want to go. I used the Miha 45 SAA HP at 282 grs in Africa on some large animals with great success. I have a 300 gr RCBS SWC that is an excellent mould for $30 shipped if you want a dandy solid.
