I’ll go first! I do, I’ve shot .44s & .45s for years ( still do) but this past year I’ve rediscovered how much downright fun the .38 Special is. One of my favorite loads is any wadcutter over 2-1/2grs. of Bullseye.. Fun, accurate, & won’t shake you or your gun loose! Anyone else?

Excellent cartridge for fun and still useful for hunting and defense.
My last Clements Custom as he retired was a 38 Special...

I go in spurts with it, lately, it's been more 357 Magnum than 38 Special, but that could change next week at the range, I have quite a few lower-priced 125-grain HPs & 130-grain FMJs that I bought at the beginning of CO-VID when I had trouble getting 158 & my favorite 180-grain bullets. I don't like shooting these lighter bullets in 357 Magnum so I shoot those & also full wadcutters in 38 Special.

If it weren't for the scarcity of small primers here, I would take a .38 to the range every trip. Picked up a shooter grade model 14 last year, and that old girl is a laser.

A small supply of 38Spec has always been on hand, for an Uncles Colt PP 38spec, was main armament on the spotter plane he flew in WW2. Then loading components and dies, were picked up for FIL's 357BH. A friends SP101 then needed shotshells, so.. Lately a LCR +P attached itself to me like a limpet mine, and you should hear my poor CA 44spec Bulldog whining piteously, from down the hall when it is left behind ! With the uptick in bears continuing, I really do need to peel this 38spec off me and re-holster the 44spec.. just should. But that lil LCR, it can fit in places, even the Bulldog can't, a Carhart T-shirt pocket will do ! So a batch of wadcutters, cast and PC'd by a member here, and a couple boxes of 140gr XTP and CCI/Speer shotshells here. Speed strips and speedloaders, etc..

Speer 148 hbwc behind a small fast burning charge of powder is loads of fun. Sign me up to shoot some .38’s gents.

Hey Gunny , If that's a P JR. I'm going the same way , with a little less barrel. This one loves any ammo I have put in it but mostly I have been going thru a bunch of pulled 125 HPs I ended up with . Funn shootin as there is no real investment in the bullets . It also loves double ended wadcutters nested in reddot, bullseye or unique. Compact Single Six sized but still has the challenge of being a fixed sight Single Action. What a perfect, fun, PPP!

I enjoy it myself. 4.0 bullseye does pretty well with the 38-150-SWC, for an all around load.

I shoot more 38sp than anything else. Use the RCBS 38-150KT bullet over Universal the most, followed by a 148 wadcutter over Red Dot.

One benefit of a family reunion this weekend, brother-in-law had a Marlin 30-30 and a S&W model 15 6" he wanted to sell. Both are coming home with me. I understand not many 6" model 15s were made. I haven't reloaded 38 Special much since my PPC days. Looking forward to this gun and shooting for fun.

Just ordered 1K new Starline 38+P brass to retire some of my old batch. Loves me some 38 Special! I have a NOE HP mold for a semi-wadcutter and pack that over TiteGroup.
