Welcome to the Linebaugh Library


The intent of this Library is to be a collection of articles and interviews concerning John Linebaugh, his cartridges, and the guns he made. This is meant for anyone wishing to find out more information on John Linebaugh and his work. Below you will find a bibliography of books, magazine articles, online articles, and videos. I have posted links when available. The format used is of my own creation to make it easy to find and reference the books, articles, and magazines. They are ordered chronologically, when available. Below some references is a single line describing what you might find within the text.


This is by no means an exhaustive list. If you have additional sources let me know so that they can be included.



John is someone that leaves behind a legacy that deserves to be remembered. This will stand to preserve the memory of John, for existing and future sixgunners.

When I first learned about John years ago I looked up everything I could to find out more. Some of the magazine articles were hard to find, or few knew existed. I hope this will save someone the same effort some day.

Excellent. That 500 linebaugh primer test is excellent reading. I need something like that for 45 colt. I have 8000 large pistol magnum primers and rarely shoot magnum loads. Thinking of testing some in my midlevel loads.
