Axis & A Hog Another Photo

My neighbor & good friend Larry, the same Larry who hunted in Africa with me a little over a year ago is now terrorizing south Texas with that very same FA 41 magnum. This time he's using what we both consider the Alpha Male of 41 bullets, the Miha 250 gr HP. Yesterday he sent me a couple of great photo's, the first one being this nice Axis taken with a high shoulder shot, you can see the perfect bullet placement, & he recovered the bullet under the hide on the off side. I haven't seen the bullet yet but these long shanked 41's seem like they are going to be the ultimate bullet for putting down game fast & final.

The local kids are out of school for spring break so Larry took his wife Kristen, daughter Macee & one of her friends along for the trip & out of this continuous winter that never seems to stop. It's snowing as I type this & it snowed most of the night. I think Larry is wearing that T-shirt just to torture me! Anyway the weather looks great down there in the Corpus Christi area & he said he's having a blast (pun) Later the same day I got another photo of Larry with this very large feral hog that he toasted with the same 250 gr 41 HP, hitting it through the shoulder & the bullet exiting out of the opposite ear! He said it never took a step..... I'm sure!

He's not done yet, I think if things work out there might be some fishing on the menu & perhaps a crack at a Nilgai if he gets lucky. If that long shanked HP 41 gets a crack at a "Blue Bull" its going to be quite a collision for sure.

Yep, spoke with a buddy in Minnesota and he said it’s still 6 feet of snow on the ground, I told him I was In Shorts and t shirt and come on down for some double rifle strollin thru S. Texas.

That’s about what I was able to push them at from my 414. I was pleased with the performance on my pig, thanks buddy.

Those long pills Probably wouldn’t work in my 97s but I have an 83 and a few 414 revolvers that would be perfect for.
1600 .41 250gr …….
14” contender and 15” encore 414sm barrels should be able to really go crazy.

Joe, me & Larry both used a 250 gr & a 272 gr solid in Africa with great success on several animals. Actually him & his son used them more than I did, I just used a 255 that Kelly Brost gave me for my Gemsbok but Larry & his son Riley took several animals with the 41 & the 250 gr solid & also the 272 gr solid. I think Wildebeest, Impala, Nyla & Blesbok, and perhaps one other. The 250's worked great every time.
