Great pics...and nice to know one doesn't have to have a .454 to kill anything bigger than Jack Rabbit....

My neighbor & good friend Larry, the same Larry who hunted in Africa with me a little over a year ago is now terrorizing south Texas with that very same FA 41 magnum. This time he's using what we both consider the Alpha Male of 41 bullets, the Miha 250 gr HP. Yesterday he sent me a couple of great photo's, the first one being this nice Axis taken with a high shoulder shot, you can see the perfect bullet placement, & he recovered the bullet under the hide on the off side. I haven't seen the bullet yet but these long shanked 41's seem like they are going to be the ultimate bullet for putting down game fast & final. The local kids are out of school for spring break so Larry took his wife Kristen, daughter Macee & one of her friends along for the trip & out of this continuous winter that never seems to stop. It's snowing as I type this & it snowed most of the night. I think Larry is wearing that T-shirt just to torture me! Anyway the weather looks great down there in the Corpus Christi area & he said he's having a blast (pun) Later the same day I got another photo of Larry with this very large feral hog that he toasted with the same 250 gr 41 HP, hitting it through the shoulder & the bullet exiting out of the opposite ear! He said it never took a step..... I'm sure! He's not done yet, I think if things work out there might be some fishing on the menu & perhaps a crack at a Nilgai if he gets lucky. If that long shanked HP 41 gets a crack at a "Blue Bull" its going to be quite a collision for sure. Dick Would you share information on the slugs he uses? I was unsuccessful in a web search and being a 41mag fan, would like to acquire some. Thanks

We make these long shanked 41 HP's from a 4 cavity Miha mould that is marked, 41 265TS, I'm not sure if this mould is still available or not. With the pins we use the bullets drop right at 250 grs with a HP, if you switch to the solid pins I'm guessing you would get about 265 grs depending on alloy. I also have another set of HP pins but this bullet works so well with this set of pins I doubt I will ever use them. I also have a 210 gr HP GC mould that I've taken several deer with & a couple of antelope. Also in the photo you will see a bullet (black) that is a 272 gr solid with a GC that is a Todd Corder bullet. It's from a custom Lee mould. My buddy Larry used this bullet on several animals in Africa & it's the same length & style as the 250 HP, it's a great bullet as well, shoots great with great penetration. It takes a different GC than the other 41 caliber bullets. Hope this helps. Dick 208-540-7788

I was hoping that the mold you were referring to was the MP 41-265TS one. I have it & I too have found it to be a good bullet. I've cast mine all solid so far.

My buddy Larry finally made it back from Texas, I was beginning to think he would never come back to this cold weather after being down there & running around in a T shirt for several days but he decided to come home. After several days of hunting the owner of the property decided to take him to one of his real honey holes where he said a big Nilgai bull was known to come in for water from time to time. The hard part was getting Larry in there without being seen by some of the animals that seemed to be guard that water hole like it was there own & they seemed to tip off this old bull if there was any danger in the area. The guy felt like it would be best if Larry went in there during the mid day heat when the animals were bedded even if it meant putting up with the heat a little longer. Larry said he took some extra water & a sandwich in his backpack & tried his best to get into the ground blind undetected. Easing inside he got accustom to the blind & made sure there was nothing around his feet that would make a noise if he had to shift a little bit. After about 2 hours he drank a bottle of water from his pack & said he thought he heard the wind start to come up a little bit. Glancing towards the door behind him he noticed it was slightly open & then he seen it coming over the top of his back pack, the head of a huge Rattlesnake about 2 feet from his back! He slowly rotated the FA 41 magnum around & just point blank pulled the trigger in the dark blind. It measured 9' 2".............. April Fools!!!!!!!
