Yup...I spoke with Marty this morning to get him paid and verify transfer to me. If you were on the original list too I think you can expect to hear from him soon.

i got a email sunday at 1:45 that my order is ready to ship talked to marty today will get a updated ffl copy tomorrow so it should hit the mail this week.

Marty told me they show out of stock, but he will walk you through the check out process if you were on the original list. I think there were 400 or so orders from the list that he is processing one at a time.

Got the e-mail today at 5:53 PM. By the time I called at 6:03 PM, no one was home.

Will call and settle up tomorrow, first thing. No idea what I'm going to do with this one, but I'm not passing it up at that price and after the long wait.

I was on the paid list ,got refund ,got call from Marty ,furnished info , frame is shipped , to be in hand this week(08 30 23) update info later RNH

There are some reviews out there, I just don't remember where.  Things have been chaotic for me since may and a lot of things have been pushed back in my mind to commit more brain cells to certain serious priorities.  At least two people have reported that Marty asked them to shoot as many barrels as they can find on them and report on their findings.  From what I've read there were no problems.

Marty called me this morning and I settled up. Stopped at my FFL on the way to work and asked him to shoot Marty a copy of his FFL. "HAPPY TO! I'll do it right now!" was the reply I got from him. He turned away and went straight to his computer before I could thank him and sign off.  I think he was more excited than I was.

I don't actually NEED another Contender frame, and I fear that this will make me buy another barrel and stock set, but I really just want to be a part of this - something "old" that many of us liked coming back from the dead.  Not that a '67 model of anything is "old," but I'm tired of stuff we like that WORKS being displaced with new cheap stuff that costs just as much. 

Marty is honoring the original price of $275 for any that were already on order, but even the new $395 price after that is better than what I'm seeing on the few old ones I've seen for sale.  Someone snapped up a stainless "crazy cat" frame for $500 recently.  I paid $500 for a WHOLE stainless Contender Carbine in 223 about four years ago.

OK, close enough. I hereby rescind my negativity/sour grapes. This evening, I received "the email" from Marty, and have spoken to him on the phone. FFL is on the way. My four-year bout of skepticism is allayed, and Marty is now my bff. (I can't believe I said that.)

I'm glad these are shipping and if they are ever "In Stock" I'll order one.

But, my days of putting deposits, etc are over. I've been on hold by several manufacturers and it's no fun. I'll buy what's available and wait on what isn't...
