Yup. Never used 4227 in a special case, nor a bullet heavier than 158 in the fixed sight Police Service Six. Turns out it's dead on at 50yds. Just a little high at 25. I'm going to use these in it as it's regular load from now on.

Yeah, seemed like a slow powder for application but can't argue with results !

Any idea the velocity? Certainly seems to shoot well

Yeah, seemed like a slow powder for application but can't argue with results ! There was unburned powder, but it's more accurate than my shooting is. It also penetrated three 2×6's, so it'll do as a defense round. Chronographing it tomorrow if I can get the time to do it.

Am sure you know 4227 often leaves kernals behind. Doesn't seem to matter though.

An update would be good. I just sorted a zillion 38 cases. I would like to know what your velocity is and what the OAL is as well.

Awaiting Chrono results, with anticipation! Sorry I didn't get to it today. I'll try to get time next weekend. I'm hoping for 1100fps from the 4" barrel. It's predicted at 1195 by Gordon's Reloading Tool.

My alloy was 50/50 coww/soww, air cooled, RCBS lube (NRA 50/50 formula). No leading to mention at these loads. Leads 357 mag and 45 Colt +p horrible, even if water dropped.
For the higher pressure loads, I think I will stick to coww+2% tin (pewter). But it's good for the 38+p.
