I saw an add, for them. I do not know what the retail Price is, and when ever something new comes out gun broker guy's try and get rich quick, but they were about the same price as a Python. no thanks. Carfull shopping will net you a good model 17 for much less than that !...tj

Sure, the Freedom Arms M-252 (M-83 .22 LR) may shade it, the K-22 defines beautiful packing & shooting in a widely distributed rimfire. Some very fine Ruger Single-Sixes are out there, but Smith set standard for which there is no going back. All Colt has to do is match that----on the Firing Line. David Bradshaw

I was always partial to the old Colt Troopers in .22.

Quite often when guns are introduced dealers try to jack up the price. This appeals only to the select few who have to have the first one they see.
MSRP is $999.00 from printed articles I can find.
I'm on the waiting list for one of these as a mate to my Colt KC 357 Magnum. But, I won't pay a marked up price.
I've got some fine shooting 22 Revolvers from S&W, Ruger, Colt, Freedom Arms, etc. I've also seen and swapped some off that weren't so great.

I don't even own a 22. Might have to remedy that.

I don't even own a 22. Might have to remedy that. Seems like an impossible situation to be in to me. A good .22, both rifle, and semi automatic pistol as well as both a single-action and double-action sixgun are the basis for any accumulation of a shooting battery.

I refused to buy Colts, or rather New Colts, for almost 40 years. As unpopular as the truth is, they built crap at obscene prices while touting themselves as an All American Company. But, consumers saw thru it. They struggled financially and bankruptcies followed. So, they got in bed with the government to get lucrative contracts. That worked until it didn't. Then they turned their backs on Americans who legally bought guns. They refused to sell ARs to civilians. If you won't sell me an AR, or any other gun, I won't buy anything from you. When they got back into the revolver game, it was business as usual. Compensated Gun Writer raved because they were paid to. But, the internet allows information to spread. No longer can profiteers control what we hear. So, Colt went down again. Enter CZ... Quality turned around. I deal with several shops who couldn't unload Colts, but now have a waiting list. While misinformation is definitely on the internet, it's just a prevalent in magazines and other publications. In my 43 years of buying my own guns, the members of this forum are the best source of information I've found. Yes, I've bought three New CZ Colts in two years with no regrets...

I agree there have been some lemons from Colt and their political attitude has sucked on occasion. I've been mad as hell at them on several occasions. But I was also destroyed when my idol, Bill Ruger, made some famous comments on magazine capacity. Because of the rest of his life, I forgave him quickly and went back to idolize territory. There's just to much to admire there. I however fight the urge to "CANCEL" anyone or anything permanently. That term has taken on a cultural meaning I'm not sure I want to accept as doctrine. The Woke group uses it to destroy people they disagree with. I disagree with my friends, but I don't cancel them. A truism for me is that friends are people you forgive for their transgressions. A healthy discussion can be had where people accept a different perspective from their own. I have cancelled several Hollywood actors. I lost a lot of self-respect, when I looked in the mirror and I saw what I had become. For several years, Colt has been on the edge of acceptance for me, I however can not find myself able to toss my accumulation out the door. The Colt SAA, 1917, Woodsman, Officers Match, 3 5 7, Trooper, Python, Diamondback, Cobra, and lots of others are still awesome shooters today. However, in all candor, I don't believe I've ever bought a brand new Colt. So maybe I do hold a grudge I really don't want to cut off my nose to spite my face. Colt's Classic line has caught my attention, but not my dollars. It sounds like Encore and I are pulling the oars in the same boat. Prescut

Agreed...
Colt's Trainwreck was self inflicted. Many companies have followed similar paths.
But, we have to remember it was the management at the time that called the shots.
A "Brand" is never to blame. Once it's owned by others, they deserve a chance to make it right. I believe CZ is trying to do just that.
To accept inferior products at inflated prices by anyone is acceptance of such a practice. I absolutely refuse to fund such actions.
