Well the day has finally come, my new mount is finished and available. It has the same design as the Flattop model, uses the rear sight screw and rear sight cross pin. The new mount will also come with a Shim Pack that will allow you to tailor fit the mount to your specific gun. Adjustments as small as 0.001"! The new mount will fit the Ruger Blackhawk, Super Blackhawk, Redhawk, Super Redhawk, GP100, Security Six, and Single Six models and most of their variations. I've added a new gallery page to the website with tons of pictures of all different models so be sure to check that out.

Funny this thread came up, I just mounted my new Griffon Hill mount to my old model flattop, with a Vortex venom, everything lined up , and fit perfectly, I did have to shorten the supplied mounting screw , just enough to recess it in the topstrap,which was explained to me in an email sent by Dan, no problem, other than that, the screw hole lined up and seems to be very solid, will take to range for a full function test as soon as possible.

Please explain the shimming and shim pack thing.
Is that top to bottom or side to side shimming?
Pictures of shims (if you have them) are worth a gazillion words.

The shims are used for side to side shimming inside the rear sight pocket. They are made from polyester plastic and color coded for different thicknesses. Each mount comes with 8 shims in 4 different thicknesses. Here is a picture showing a shim on one side. Depending upon your gun/model it may take 1 shim or a couple shims. |
