We all know there's lots of things in the world that's not great these days. It's just the times we're living in. So, a little great news is always welcome to me.
Today, I finally had time to swing by my LGS and pick up my latest CZ/Colt Revolver. As the thread title indicates, it's one of the New Colt Python 4.25" Models.
This is my third CZ/Colt to purchase. But, just like the Anaconda and King Cobra Target, it's simply remarkable.
Chambers and throats are nice and polished. Coated Cast Bullets sized to .358" push thru the throats with a gentle push. All six offer the same resistance.
Barrel gap is .003" on all six chambers. The forcing cone barrel accepts the cast bullets and has about 1/10" freebore. Barrel slugged at .355" just like the King Cobra. Should be an excellent cast bullet gun.
Cylinder lock up is tighter than expected with no endshake.
As with most of my guns, a couple upgrades have commenced. Harrison Snake Sights have been installed and provide a huge improvement over factory sights.
Grips are ordered and will arrive in a few days.
For 40 years, I've wanted to add High Quality Colts to the stable. It took CZ to make this possible.
Pictures and range report to follow...

Glad to hear you bought the new Python and like it. I love mine. Are the Harrison Snake Sights click adjustable on windage? Also, if you want the SA/DA to be as slick, or slicker than the original Python, I highly recommend Mike Heffron: www.heffronprecision.com/-Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

The Harrison Sights use the same adjustment screw as the factory sights.
The rear sight is only a blade replacement. It's fractionally taller and considerably beefier. The front sight is a nearly straight blade with a rounded front corner.

Got it. Thanks for clarifying. I'm eager to see how yours shoots for you. My guess is you'll be pleased. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

Here's one thing I've found interesting. The Python has a very short cylinder. COAL is held to 1.605". It's little brother, the King Cobra Target, actually accepts ammo a tad longer at 1.615".
This will cause me to be selective in bullet choice. But, very few problems hamper the avid handloader...

Thanks Tim...
This is the Harrison Front Sight. Much better sight picture than the ramped front with the terrible red insert.
The rear is similar to the factory one. But, .020" taller and much beefier...

Thanks Tim...
Only some range time is left. Admittedly, the grips are a bit flashy. But, I've learned to accept some bling in my old age...

Very slick. Did the grips come from the factory or did you add them? -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

They look good. The stock grips work well for me, but I know others don't take to them. Let us know how it shoots. My guess is it'll be accurate as hell. Mine sure is. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

Mine sure is. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time" I'll find out and report soon. I've been wanting to long seat some coated cast wadcutters. With the new Lee Collet Crimp Die for the 357 Magnum, this one seems ideal for both...

I've been a Colt snake guy for awhile, but only with older vintage models.
The new line from CZ/Colt has my attention. Are they all stainless and do they come in 22lr?

They are stainless and supposed to introduce the King Cobra Target in 22 LR this Fall. I'm hoping to add one of the 6" Models to my growing collection.
Also, hoping to add a 6" Python. With any luck, they'll add more adjustable sight models down the road.
I'd love to see an Anaconda 45 Colt...
