To me the 480 looks like the barrel is longer, but the frame does look smaller.
I think you need to take them hunting.

I had a short barrel 500 Linebaugh Vaquero and it woke you up with just about any load you used in it. Beautiful gun Bushog!

It won't get pushed....more like .50 Special stuff and maybe even that if it shoots it well. Figured the .50 Special is such a niche thing I'd go ahear with the .500L. Trailboss works if nothing else. Then again it will shoot the .510 GNR too... |

Went and picked up the newest addition from Bowen Classic Arms today. Nice Turnbull case colored blue bisley chambered in .500 Linebaugh with a 4 5/8" octagonal barrel. It wears Dall grips from Rob Rowan which are so nice as usual. If Rob's work is usual.... Last pic is with it's little brother in .480 Ruger wearing the last set of grips Roy made for me. I swear the flutes make the gun look smaller. Maybe it's just the case coloring on the .500 that does it. A note for those who notice and even for those who don't, Bowen has switched to a smaller marking on his barrels. This happened sometime this spring or thereabouts. So, if you see a gun with the big marks it's likely older. The .480 has the larger rollmark.       Nice Greg!!!!!!!!!! |

Great looking gun! My last Bowen used a roll pin for the front sight and didn’t have the erh plug. Glad he went back to the domed pin and plug
