You know the saying about something being "the most fun you can have with your clothes on?" Well for an boring old guy who doesn't drink or smoke, this little thing is as close as I can come to fitting that first description. Ruger Mk II that Joseph converted to an integrally suppressed upper. The call came today that my background check came through and I could pick it up. All I can say is "what a kick in the pants!"

Very interesting. Can the suppressor be disassembled and cleaned?

Every time someone asks me about getting a suppressor I steer them to a rimfire. Finding subsonic ammo is easy, if you can’t find subsonic/target ammo regular High velocity isn’t that bad. And you get to shoot and shoot and shoot, I’ve used suppressed 22’s for years for urban animal abatement, even on feral hogs out to 50yds. They are great for teaching youngsters how to shoot as well.

This one can have the end cap unscrewed and the baffles removed for cleaning. I used regular 22lr today but I want to try some of the quiet varieties tomorrow just to see the difference.

The good thing about standard velocity ammo is, it’s usually sub-sonic shot from handguns. CCI quiets are wicked quiet, but you’ll have to hand eject each one from the MK II.

I believe a lot of them use a shorter or even drilled out barrels to keep even the high velocity rounds subsonic. Provides more positive extraction and ejection for reliability.

Gentlemen (Gentlepeople) shoot suppressors. A quasi quote from "Air America", "If I want to get drunk on my porch and shoot lizards I see no point to keeping the neighbors up.".
A very nice weapon.

I can imagine that the first time you pulled the trigger,, the smile appeared,, and is a bit hard to wipe off.
Shooting suppressed firearms is a lot of fun. Having shot several over the decades,, I can attest to the fact that they are really neat accessories to enjoy.
I just wish that the fine lawmakers would get smart,, and remove them from the NFA list.

Don't know much about suppressors. Do they have a lifespan on a 22lr? is there much maintenance involved?
I've always had a Ruger MK of some flavor around, but ended up buying 3 in the past year including 2 this past week. With the mcfadden ultimate clip loader and a dozen magazines it's become my favorite high volume gun. Would be even better if it was quiet!

I have 11 mags for this toy so once a guy is ready to go, there can be lots of trigger squeezes between breaks!

Takes just a couple minutes to load a dozen mags, don't even have to touch the bullets. A quick squirt of remoil every couple hundred rounds in the hopper keeps things chugging along.
