Very nice! I think the 6.5 is about perfect on this one. I think so too. It's dicey trying to get the proportions right. Sure there's function but when I'm putting the $$ into a build I want it to look "right" too. I've always thought the bisley grip frame looks out of place on the tiny Single Six frame so I tried to balance it out with the longer barrel. I think the rib on the S&W barrel helps with this a lot without adding the weight of a bull barrel. I've seen and unfortunately had built too many that came out looking wonky (tech term). They don't live here any more... Expensive lessons. |

Both ends were shortened to get the 6 1/2" and keep the right contour for the breech end. Mostly due to the rib on the S&W barrel. The hammer is case colored carbon steel. Why would you think it colored SS? |

In fact I didn’t realize this either and sent a spare carbon hammer with the build. It was returned and a nice surprise. |
