I once fired a 50 BMG rifle, and it had a break. And shooting it was no problem. But nobody else in the shack at the range was having any fun. And that is the truth. Most of the people got up and left. Lee, we talked on the phone , you are a nice guy, But I recommend you reconsider shooting , a 50 BMG at a public range unless they have some sort of separate space set up for it. The range where I fired one, Set up a separate little section for them with a thick canvas curtain, that stops most of the concussion from ruining everybody elses day at the range. But it was not in place when I fired the one round I fired. This break , made shooting the 50 a breeze for the shooter, but you could see the hair blow on people 20 feet away on either side. Personally, I would not choose to do that to people. A .308 or 6.5 creed is just an annoyance , but a 50 or even a .338 by 378 Weatherby is an ordeal. I can't remember where or when it happened but I read of a guy who fired an unbreaked 50 BMG prone , and it broke his neck , he died instantly. I think there is a U tube video of it. But i might be wrong...tj
