So you're saying the 454 is actually a better all around caliber than my beloved 41 magnum.....well, you're probably right Dick I think James and Dick are both right on. A dual battery of FA83’s in .454 and.41 would perfectly compliment each other.

That would depend on the shooter. There both good calibers it just depends on what your doing with them I've been using my 45 win mag cylinder for the most part a lot easier on the old hands ! Where did you get a 45 Win mag cylinder for a Freedom Arms revolver?

I had a 45 acp cylinder reamed out I had manson build the reamer then I bought a new 45 acp cylinder cut when I rebarreled my model 83 I sold the reamer to the head gunsmith at freedom. I was just literally on the phone with him and he hasent done any mag cylinders as of yet.

Forgot to mention I found a great 45 win mag load using a freedom arms 240gr jhp over 18 grs 2400 at least in my gun with my 2400 I haven't chronographed it yet

Not that I would do it but would it be possible to rechamber one of the ACP cylinders to .45 Auto Rim?

No high jack. Good info. It does have the rings. What do you suggest for cleaning? I have always wiped stainless cylinders with Birchwood Casey’s lead remover. Is that bad? BoreTech Carbon Remover is very good for this if you want the black gone. I'll let my cylinder face soak in a puddle of it for an hour or so. I can get the majority of the forcing cone area clean with a good soak and a stiff plastic tooth brush too. I put 35 rounds of slightly below maximum loads through my 454 83 yesterday and the Carbon Remover did it's typical fine job during clean up. I won't say I've never used a lead away cloth (patch) on a stainless cylinder face before but I now only use the BoreTech. I was told by FA to not use the lead away cloths.

I'm going to go the BoreTech route.
Thanks to dhd and loupuleff for the warning RE lead cloths.

I'm going to go the BoreTech route. Thanks to dhd and loupuleff for the warning RE lead cloths. All of their products are good. No doubt some of the cleaners overlap each other in what they do. Knowing how well the Carbon Remover works on stainless, I use it on blued revolvers and it does a similar job there too. My shooting partner keeps a pimento jar about half full of Carbon Remover and drops his cylinders in there for long soaks. He says it's the lazy man's way to do the job.

I think I have their carbon remover. I know I have their rimfire blend. I bet either will work.

On the outside the lead wipes ok though
