I had been wanting a light(er)weight K frame .327. My other has a full underlug and while a great revolver I wanted a M15 converted to a .327 Federal. I sent a Smith M18 barrel to JRH to be rebored by Al Segrist. After a wait Jack contacted me and said my barrel was ready so I sent along a M15 along with some sight parts and build details. The result is a really nice working gun without anything you don’t need with a nice set of sights and a great trigger. I did put a set of Culuna's wonderful magna grips made of Macassar ebony on it to dress it up just a little and because they feel great. Haven't gotten it out to shoot yet but can't wait!

COOL. WHAT CYLINDER DID YOU USE FOR THE RECHAMBER? I AM CONSIDERING A SIMILAR PROJECT BUT USING A MODEL 53 22 JET BARREL FOR THE REBORE, AN AUXILLARY 22lr JET REVOLVER CYLINDER FOR THE RECHAMBER (THOSE CYLINDERS ARE LONGER THAN THE MODEL 17 CYLINDERS), AND A ROUND BUTT MODEL 19 AS THE DONOR GUN. HAVE 6 INCH AND 4 INCH 22 JET BARRELS I COULD USE.

So, could a M 18 in 22lr be converted to a 327 mag?

So, could a M 18 in 22lr be converted to a 327 mag? Not easily. It would require a rim-to-centerfire conversion and everyone I asked about that recoils as if touching a hot stove. Problem is the rebores. It seems like you need fairydust to get them done. I tried for a year and couldnt get Al to answer the phone. Granted i didnt even call weekly but pretty often.

Many that is a neat little gun! Thankfully there are very few S&W rabbit holes here in Oregon!

That turned out great! I must be getting cheap in my old age because I'm sticking with the 38 special

That turned out great! I must be getting cheap in my old age because I'm sticking with the 38 special The M15 S&W is a really fine little revolver when left unmolested in its own right. You actually gain a noticeable amount of weight (like they weigh that much anyhow) going to .32. Theyre also one of the few S&Ws that havent gone totally through the roof pricewise. As a small game sidearm the .38 may actually be the better choice but this one loaded with a .32 S&W cartridge and the old Keith .32 bullet will make a great grouse gun.
