I own quite a few Ubertis, Piettas, Cimarrons, and Taylor's. I never found the need to spend three times as much for a Colt or USFA. Here are the last two I've purchased. Been very pleased with both: Cimarron .41 Colt Taylor's .38-40 -Lee www.singleactions.com "Chasing perfection five shots at a time" I just bought the same Taylor’s.38-40

John - I know they all come from Pietta or Uberti. I just referenced Cimarron and Taylor's because they're well known importers. Many times you'll see their guns listed with no reference to Pietta or Uberti. But yes, they aren't manufacturers. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time" DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING FROM ARMI SAN MARCO? I HAVE SOME MARKED "ASM" AND OTHERS "SM". I HAVE 1873s AND CARTRIDGE CONVERSIONS/OPEN TOPS FROM THEM. GOOD SIXGUNS.TWO OTHER IMPORTERS BACK THEN WERE AWA (AMERICAN WESTERN ARMS") AND "AMERICAN FRONTIER FIREARMS". I WOUND UP TESTIFYING FOR THE FORMER AGAINST COLT WHO TRIED TO SAY AWA WAS DELIBERATELY TRYING TO TRICK PEOPLE INTO THINKING THEIR SIXGUNS WERE COLTS. CIMARRON WAS HELD UP A MITE IN THE EARLY YEARS OVER THIS ALSO.

John - I haven't owned any Armi San Marco's or AWA's. I've heard good things about the latter and wish I had picked one up in the early 2000's. Another 1873 SAA not yet mentioned were the Hammerli Virginians. I have a few and they're high quality. .357 Virginian .45 Colt Virginian -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

Were the AWA new owners of Armi San Marco? or something like that?
I have a AWA longhorn I bought new for $350 IIRC in 1980s. It has real light springs in it and smooth, slick, light action from the factory. Not sure of the quality of some of them. Some gunsmith in Texas told me some were "bad" some were good(?) Dont know about that

Lee is your lightning / p jr. a 4 click hammer or the retracto firing pin safety hammer? I own quite a few Ubertis, Piettas, Cimarrons, and Taylor's. How many do you have? Uberti made, other etc., or even Colts P.S. - I changed "clones" in the title to "replicas" Just picked up two "Replicas" Both in .45 Colt and imported by Cimarron. Brand new 2022.
Cimarron Bisley 7.5" (4 click) (Uberti Made) Cimmaron Pistolero (4 click) (Pietta Made)
I had to get them just to see if I like them, if yes then I'll get a old Colt SAA in .45 colt. So far the quality exceeded my expectations.

My first Italy gun, a recent acquisition. They have 45LC in Italy (Long Colt) apparently. “STOEGER - ACCOKEEK, MD - A. UBERTI-ITALY-“ I never have seen a “STOEGER” Uberti. Kinda hard to find any info on them.

Stoeger is an importer like Cimarron and Taylor's. It's Uberti's "house brand" importer.
