I can see a Hager BB5 and extra hand clearance Bisley hammered BFR in my future. Probably on a 500jrh base gun. Now that I will have a good excuse to get one and all....

Not for a few months. Ronnie must still be working the bugs out of his new wire EDM machine.

What happened to the original thread? I don’t remember what I sent $$ for…. Does “locked” mean removed? I'm in the same boat as you as I didn't remember. But, I went on Ronnies website and found my order on the my account page. Don't know if this will help but it did for me. Crash87

The last time we communicated he said he was machining the hammers and triggers... We’ve got to be getting close! We are. And they are turning out bad to the bone. Its been a journey man but i can see the finish line. I have piles of them off of the new EDM and i have been steadily machining and heat treating. All of them even the New model replacement Bisleys. I am awaiting the arrival of the .125 plungers material and the springs. I have a good sized box of these heading to Tyler for case color now. Just shipped. The one thing that plagued me was in the testing phase. I didnt want the case color being scraped off by the back of the frame when it drops on to the firing pin so i added a stage of machining to the end after the heat treat that removes .005 thousands from the stem of the hammer so that the bearing surface at the bottom is .290 but the shank upward is .280. That makes sure that the side of the hammer does not contact the inside of the trough in the frame. So they dont get all scratched up. when you do the final surface scoop after heat tread the surface is beautiful, so it will even look great with it blued. I will take some photos shortly.

Quite excellent news! I've been in need of some good news to counter other stuff going on that is not so positive. I better get ready for the arrival of these things and start working on that Jackrabbit again.
Go Ronnie!!

Quite excellent news! I've been in need of some good news to counter other stuff going on that is not so positive. I better get ready for the arrival of these things and start working on that Jackrabbit again. Go Ronnie!! Don D. Been churning out the single six bisley fatback Blanks today and machining the Ruger old armys. I start out with a .500 wide peice of 4140. Machining consists of drilling the holes and planeing them down on the sides, Next the Main spring strut groove,Then the contouring of the thumb spur, Then Heat Treat and Tempur! Then they come back for machining part 2 which reams the holes to the final dimensions and then shes off to the forth axis work for operaration 3. The spires in the thumb spur either crossed or diamond. Then lower section of the hammer for the plunger hole and then shes ready polish and bluing! Lot of work but well worth it. Took me a bit to get all the bugs out. Lot of experimenting and scrapped material but the New EDM has made it so much easier. I can make just one and try it out now. The machines are feet apart now instead of miles. Makes a big difference. R
