Got the word yesterday that my Ruger #1 275 Rigby will arrive today.
Have collected #1s for 28 years and adding this one has been elusive. Of course, when I say "Collect," I mean as shooters.
Lipsey's was finally able to add another run of these. The last run sold out before I could get one.

Nice! I've been wanting a Ruger in the 275 Rigby as well. Do you know if the run included the RSI's as well?

This is the one I wanted as I have the 6.5x55 RSI. Fortunately, my LGS has Layaway. Too many custom revolvers got ready at once.

.275 Rigby is the same as 7x57 Mauser, correct? My #1 RSI in 7x57 is a sweet little rifle and is like lightening on deer. Congratulations on your new #1.

Have you seen the work that Roger Renner does on the No.1?
I'll dig up some photos. He slims up the forend quite a bit, modifies the forend attachment in the process. Really nice treatment.

I've seen some beautiful work on them. But, I leave them factory.
Have heard of accuracy issues from them, but my collection has been stellar.
Have them from 22 Hornet/218 Bee thru 416 Rigby/475 Linebaugh.
Never met a #1 that I didn't like. Ditto on the #3s.

Encore, is this new No.1 actually marked 275 Rigby? I have and love my RSI 7x57.

Encore, is this new No.1 actually marked 275 Rigby? I have and love my RSI 7x57. It is marked 275 Rigby. There is a little difference in throating I believe. Can't say if that's true on the #1s. The 7x57 is generally throated for the long 175 grn RN Bullets. The 275 Rigby was originally loaded with a 140 grn Spitzer Bullet. I have the M77 275 Rigby and it's extremely accurate with the Hornady SSTs. Hope the #1 is too...

My 7x57 takes 175s with no issue and theres very little jump to the rifling. I believe the 175s that I have left are seated to the cannelure.

I can't say all manufacturers throat as the original chamberings were. Either method is perfectly ok with me.

Very cool encore! I am glad Lipsey's has stepped up with their Exclusives. I had my LGS put the .275 Rigby on a wish list two weeks ago while there taking delivery of my second No.1. It's another Lipsey's Exclusive but in 250-3000. Looking forward to getting it out this weekend. Also put a Hawkeye African in 6.5x55 on the list, hoping for another run of those as well.

I've always wanted a #1, but have never really looked at nor shot one. How are the triggers on #1's? Can they be worked on or can you drop in a new trigger like a Timney?

Not sure about a Timney drop in trigger for the No.1, but I believe theres a Kipler (I think I have that name right) trigger available. But, they can also be worked.....I had a local smith work my trigger on my No.1 7x57. He did a great job! No.1 are great rifles, I enjoy both of mine. But my 7x57 is my favorite between the two. The 45-70 just KICKS a little too much, lol Both are quite accurate!
