Night vision scope arrived and is mounted up on the .204 Ruger Handi Rifle. Now just need to zero it and start the ranch coyote eradication program....

Will you be using this during the weekend?
I'm looking forward to seeing how you do with it.

That's a fantastic setup. Given the inherent accuracy of the 204 in that single shot, a quick follow up shot seems negate.

Night hunting is definitely different , just a little off point hear but why didn't you go semi auto for follow ups? Seams every one is mounting those on ar-15 rifles. Is there a particular purpose ?

I use and love AR's, but I think a single shot has a lot more class. Just my opinion.

I don’t have an AR, I had the single shot. I have two AK’s, but they aren’t really long tangle hunters.

mk70ss, just a suggestion not firearm related, but when hunting with a single shot, call soft and low starting out and gently raise the volume as time passes. Reason for this is to lure in the nearest coyote as a single and kill it with one shot. If you start out calling loud, you may bring in a pack and the others will remember the sound of the call and one dying. They may not come to a call at all after that. Then you have some educated and spooky predators to deal with. Makes for hard hunting. Just a suggestion. (Can you tell I like to hunt with a single shot?)
