While perusing a recent auction, I saw a listing for a Turnbull Manufacturing replica of the "Hand of God" revolver from "3:10 to Yuma." I was bidding on a couple other interesting things (including a Turnbull Sheriff's Model, which I didn't win) and I put in a bid for the "Hand of God." It came with a letter from Turnbull explaining this was the prototype for a small series of these replicas they did. This gun's serial number is 310. The two guns used in the movie were USFAs. I assume, given when this one was made, it was built by Turnbull with parts he got from USFA. It also came with a replica of the holster from the movie, made by the same guy who made the holsters for the movie. The crucifixes mounted in the stocks were made by the same guy who made them for the movie. Long story short, I miscalculated the buyer's premium and wound up paying way more than I meant to win this. It arrived yesterday and is more beautiful than the pics show. It was very hard not to cock it instinctively when I took it out of the box. Looks unfired, but has a couple tiny marks here and there. The holster has obviously never been used and is a good looking piece of leather. Anywho, I guess I've done stupider things. Despite the temptation to shoot it, I don't dare. My wife has gone full Dave Ramsey and we are on a track to get our house paid off way early. A bone-headed bid like this one doesn't help towards that goal, but I thought folks here would like seeing it. I didn't know these existed until seeing this one.

Sweet package! Will Ghormley is the maker for the movie rigs and he did also provide the crucifixes for the grips. There's a tutorial on his website for doing the Hand of God holster. The color comes from iron oxide, one of the methods of doing leather black that does not run or rub off. Looks like your example was done very lightly for a more aged look. He also markets pattern sets for the HOG and the Flames of Hell that he made for the character Charlie Prince. I loved the movie and have watched it dozens of times. I've made holsters from both of those patterns. He also did the rigs for Open Range. Let me know if you wanna part with the holster.

The holster was special ordered with "310" stamped on it, though the gun hides that in the pic. Whether I keep it or sell it, I'm leaving the rig together.

Some years ago I saw I guess the 1st half of the movie and liked. Then just a few days ago saw the rest ! Just cut in and edited my post. Nothing bad really, just .. not needed. I appreciate the workmanship that attains the level of art. Maybe keep holster with gun ?

Nice gun! I always felt that the Turnbull MFG guns had a bit better metal prep before the finish was applied than the USFA guns even though they were both made from USFA parts.

My loving sister bought my wife and I a Dave Ramsey class as a wedding gift. We took it, and my gun buying habits have never been the same.
I sympathize with your pseudo buyers remorse, though you have picked a very nice pistol to make this "mistake" with. I will say, better you than me, only because were it I, I'd have already run a box of shells through it.
