This is one of my Frankenstein creations. Barrel fit to frame window, barrel fit to slide, slide fit to frame. Shoots like a house afire. I killed 3 groundhogs and 2 deer with it. It's fun.  |

I like the round, I would think if they could someone would build one on a long slide 1911.

Nice work...
I have a G40 with a LW .357 SIG barrel that is an excellent shooters...very low recoil.
As to 1911s in .357 SIG...has been problematic feeding issues... I have several friends who have added .357 SIG barrels to their 10mms or .40 S&Ws and have had problems. SIG now has 1911s in .357 and are supposed to run like a scalded cat... Their Nightmare Commander is very tempting but since I already shoot .38 Super it would just be one more gun in the safe...

A Sig 1911 might get me over my mistrust of slide mounted electors on 1911s.
A 6 inch in .357 Sig might get me to jump !

Interested in what slide assembly and barrel you have. Also,what trigger do you prefer with this set up? The slide is a Lone Wolf. Sadly they discontinued them. The barrel was a special order KKM. The trigger is made up of several pieces. The current set up is a LW adjustable shoe, 6lbs trigger spring with a 4lbs striker spring, 2lbs Zev connector, stock bar highly polished with the frame stop re-contoured, polished striker and plunger. I nets just over 2lbs and is quite smooth. The barrel and slide have to be fit so that the block fits the slide window. The rails are squared and the restrictions on the rails evened out so it wont drag on the slide. A lot of work but shoots like a house a fire. |

Mine is a G-35 40S&W 5 in with a LW 357sig 6in barrel.
Put a reddot on and from a rest, clay birds "Quake with Fear" at 100yds.

Too bad about the LW slide, as I very much like the look of it. Probably the easiest would be to get a G35 and a KKM G24 barrel. Any issues with hand loading the 357 sig? Things like bullet set back/brass cracks etc.? Thanks for all your info on your Glock.

Things like bullet set back/brass cracks etc.? Thanks for all your info on your Glock. Weirdly enough I haven't loaded the first 357 Sig yet since I load everything from a 38 S&W to a 416 Rigby. I have read what others have written and I don't foresee any problems with it. This gun was part of an ammo test experiment. So far all the ammunition fired in it has been centered around some sort of test. I will start loading for it as soon as I get some irons out of the fire. I do know that it requires a very good crimp so I will be using a Lee factory crimp die after passing through the taper crimp die. I actualy stuck this barrel on my hybrid frame set up so that the barrel protruded past the end of the slide similar to what a 6" barrel would do with a G35 slide. It shot great. I am thinking of stick my scope set up on the hybrid with this barrel and shooting it at 100 yards. |
