Here are some pics of my Flat Top .44spl with the lightning GF and Buckeye Burl panels. It still needs the Powers hammer fitted/timed and little better polishing here and there, this is what it will look like though. Tried out my Phone's photo editor "erase" function on the serial number and it works pretty well, the serial number is untouched on the actual gun though, in case anyone asks. A Lee furnace is my nitre blue set up for now. Working well for the really small parts using salts from Brownells

Well my rear sight made it. I will try to get it on this weekend. Can't wait to use it.

I ordered a Bradshaw Bisley grip, in brass, for my 6.5" .480 a couple weeks ago. I can't wait to get it and start fitting! Hopefully the trigger guard won't smack my knuckle anymore. Love the gun, hate the sore middle finger knuckle!

Love the gun, hate the sore middle finger knuckle! That should do the trick. It made a huge difference in the way my .500 Linebaugh feels

For those who have the New Model RW Lightning grip frame, is there room for all four fingers? Using amateurish screen graphics, it appears the RW Lightning grip frame mimics the Ruger Bisley but with more room at the trigger guard. Thanks!

I have both a Ruger birdshead and an RW lightning, side by side the RW lightning has about a 1/2 longer finger surface on the bottom, plus almost an 1/8 more at the top behind the trigger gaurd where it is a little more undercut for a higher grip. The end result is the Ruger I get about 2 whole fingers and the edge of my pinky. The RW lightning I get nearly my whole pinky finger on. I wear a 14.5 wedding ring and a 4x glove, YMMV.
My recommendation for either one is make or buy the widest grip panels you can manage. The total surface area, I feel, gives more control and spreads the recoil inspite of the smaller vertical surface.

My 480 Bisley smacks my knuckle on every shot. It reminded me yesterday. I really like the looks of the Dealer but the Bradshaw Bisley may be the better option.

I would like to try the Bradshaw Bisley in 4 degree.

Does the Keith 5 Grip Frame work with large hands or would the Bisley be better.? I've narrowed it down to those two for my Ruger NM Blackhawk .45 Colt with 4 5/8" barrel. My glove size is large, so hands aren't super big but the standard XR3 red isn't comfortable to me. As I understand it, didn't Keith have small hands.?

It is an oversized (read: properly sized) #5
