Hello Fellas
Ronnie here. Beatin the street here on a sunday morning with a shop temperature that would probably rival the inner depths of HELL, ....................AGAIN.
Gotta love June, July and august in The gulf coast region of TEXAS huh!
We are running a little promotional for all you guys that have been so kind as to purchase frames from us. or atleast signed up to the RWGF site.
But first a little reason and explanation of the progressive changes and up grades of the frames themselves.
First The Bisleys.
The Generation 1 on the right is one that i found in an old Knife making supply box i have had since my big wedding or marriage move in 1990.
It never got used so i beaded it clean and realized how much they have progressed in the last 3 years.
They next one is a Gen 2 which i changed up in about 1994 to kind of clean it up a smidge. I made about 25 of these and just used em up as time permitted. In 2015 me and a guru Programmer friend of mine named Bob started to make these again with his new Gibbs cam programming software, but life side tracked us both and the plan to start something got put on hold. I made about a dozen of them then and that is what i drug out in 2018 to start this big ole mess. Hahaha.
The gen 3 on the Left was what i wanted to start RWGF with in 2019, so we slicked her up a bit and walah. some of you have this version.
Per a lot of your ( Single Action . com guys) wish lists and desires we added a mid pin on the late gen 3s and smoothed up the manufacturing process a bit more and added a description. Cleaned up the trigger guard a smidge and standardized
the name to Standard New Model Bisley. John Linebaugh made a suggestion to add a little more meat to the front screw and frame alignment boss so that it would encapsulate the bolt or latch return spring plunger. So we added that feature to the later Gen 4s as you can see in (A) and (B) black arrows.
The Latest are the gen 5s which have had unnecessary metal removed to lighten and strengthen in critical areas of the frame.
This particular gen 5 version is .440 thick like the New model Vaqueros instead of the standard .500 thick. you wouldn't think so but .030 thousandths does feel different for the cowboy action shooters. It also is about 4 ounces lighter.
The aluminum version of this is less than 3 ounces.
The standard gen 5 is .500 thick but this pic will give you an idea of what the inside looks like.
Same thing with the Keith 5s. Late 80s to the early 90s for gen 1 and 2. Gen 3 about the time we started RWGF
Extra panel hole for gen 4 ( Midpin )
Notice the plunger return boss on the gen 5 (A) and of course the lessor material and gusseting for strength.
Potato judge, Same thing. PJ didnt come out till RWGF was way underway so gen 3 was its first run, but it has a good following. It was a Great Idea TODD ( Dr B).
It now comes in ultralight and 4 degree and It will have a version in the SQUATCH Series of frames for all the Gorrilas out there.
Super black hawk progression, Gen 4 taller boss. Notice the hole in the top how it is encased in (A) Cant see any spring when installed. Much easier to assemble. Subtle detail but makes a difference.
The Gen 5 in the middle is an old model so the Boss is original height.( B) But you can see the lightening that has been done.
The grip frame on the left is a gen 5 but it retains the meat at the bottom so you can use a Lanyard Ring. My buddy RocDoc found a dandy lanyard ring for the old Mark v that is a shoe in for this type of work.
If by chance this is something that interests you here is a closeup of how it works, The lanyard ring is held in by 2 of the trigger return spring pins.
This lanyard ring is available. Sure works good.
There will be a new Category called (discount Brass) on Our Site only if your logged in. It will link you to this thread so that you can see the descriptions by Generation of frame. Just for you guys!
The reason behind this a Thankyou to all of you who have helped us get this off the ground and who are interested in some great pieces that wont be manufactured anymore. so if you like one off stuff or rarity's like i do. Here is the deal.
The frames will of course be first come first serve until they are gone and $ 195.00 plus shipping.
Happy Hunting and email us if you have any questions.
I will do my best to answer phone calls but i am pretty much submerged in the assembly of our new Wire EDM for Hammers and triggers as well as the implementation of our soon to be released steel and stainless grip frames.
