My hands are medium to smallish and the Ruger Bisley just seems a little too big for me. The Colt SAA/XR3 work very much better for me than the XR3-RED, as well. I’ve shot a lot of “Ruger Only” 45 Colt 325 LBT loads from Bisley’s over the years, and the Bisley is THE frame for such work, but with my smaller hands I’ve always thought that there is a better grip shape for me waiting to be invented. I’m wondering if RDW’s WELLS #9 or his #5 with with the extra knuckle clearance is my Holy Grail grip shape? I hope he turns some out in steel, as well as aluminum. This is what I was talking about earlier. There is a difference between "best gripframe" and "best gripframe for me." Some people struggle allowing others to determine that for themselves...

I shout 500 Linebaugh full power loads from a Bisley and a #5 gripframe. It doesn’t work for everybody obviously but it works for me. I assume it is merely a hand size/grip thing. To each his own, guys. Find what you like and works for you.
