44 Special load for my Model 69 Smith for plinking and predator (wolves) defense. 200 grain Hornady XTPS over 9.5 grain Herco and a CCI match. Brian Pearce says that load is rated 22K PSI, and he says his load does 1092fps. After planting a couple of trees this morning and seeing the Doc this afternoon I will go shoot it for accuracy and if it surpasses the 9.0 grain load of Unique I have been using, I will chrono it for posterity. The Unique load is a comfortable load to shoot and is quick on the followup shot. Shot placement is always the key.

I'm waiting on the lead to show to cast the bullets. I bought the MH 45-270 SAA mold.
The bullets I loaded were the 270 SAA from Matt's bullets.

17 Remington contender barrel from Magnumwheelman. Thanks again!
I'd gotten a couple quick loads through it yesterday or the day before. Went back at it today.
The only 17 caliber bullets that I found at the first place I stopped by in town were the 15.5gr Hornady NTX I wasn't sure if they'd be up to snuff for this, so I called Hornady and together we had a laugh on the phone this morning. Launch speeds over 4kFPS are approved by the maker!
Hodgdon data resource says 23.1gr to 26.0gr with H4895 and today I got up to 26.0gr Their 24" test barrel gave 4806fps with the max load. At 26.0gr I got a pinhole in a case neck. I'll back off a bit and take a look at the unprimed brass that came with the barrel. Will likely anneal those necks and go forward with chronograph testing later in the week.
Small nuisance varmints here on the ranch will soon become one with the wind...

today’s project was to cast up 150 452460’s (mix of range scrap/lyman #2), sized to .452 and lubed with Glen Fryxells 50/50 mix of Stalube moly grease and beeswax. This is my first go with homemade bullet lube

Over the last couple of weeks I've spent evenings depriming and swaging primer pockets on about 1700 .223 cases. 600 of them were sized, trimmed and tumbled and made ready to load last week.
So last night I sat down and sized another 100 and loaded 150 rounds to refill the batch my nephew shot up last time we were at the range.
Just took delivery of 9mm, 40, and 357 bullets from Xtreme Bullets to begin refilling the ammo boxes for summer shooting and maybe stashing a few rounds aside for a rainy day:)

Two rounds for MOA pistols: 7mm-6.5 Rem Mag wildcat shown with a 30-06. 140 NBT, IMR 4350, WLR. This gun has a 14 inch barrel.
6.5x47 Lapua, neck turn chamber, 123 Scenar, RL15, CCI 450. Pistol has a 15 inch barrel. What would have been nice is if the barrel was marked with the neck diameter. I had to figure out for myself that it was neck turn and what my neck thickness needed to be. This one was a challenge.

Loaded some .44 specials as well. 240 coated cast over some Unique. Strange night as I could not get the measure to throw consistent charges, so weighed all 50.

I use a RCBS Chargemaster so I really weigh every charge add a bullet and run it through the press to seat it. I crimp in a separate operation. Not the only way to do it but I am comfortable with it........

Not the only way to do it but I am comfortable with it........ I do the same, in an rcbs turret press. I have thought about buying a dillion, but with the chargemaster and the number of calibers that I do, I wonder if it will be worth it. I shoot alot, but not a ton of one caliber. Well, probably not alot to some on this forum.
