My wife is asking for a hunting knife to go with her Gun belt set up ...Use on deer size or smaller game. Or just around camp. What suggestions might you folks have? Thanks for your help....

About two weeks ago I purchased a Benchmade Hidden Canyon Hunter. The version I have has dymondwood handles and a leather sheath. The blade is S30V steel that is very corrosion resiostant and has a reputation for really holding an edge. The knife is perfectly designed for its intended use. She might like it... They go for $120 online and should last a lifetime.

Take her to a well stocked knife shop and let her fondle everything she wants,.......just as in guns, men should not select a knife for a woman. Especially if the want it to become a favorite.

Their customer service makes other companies envious.

Call Kim and let him help design one that she loves and have Mike do the sheath. Simple!

BigBrownDog has a point. But I'll add, check out Cold Steel, Pendleton Hunters. A good smaller hand option and options as to sheath and handle materials that give different price points.

Their custom service is outstanding and I'll always have one in my pocket. But when it comes to a fixed blade look at a custom hand forged. The carbon steel is alot easier to sharpen and you can get it custom made for your hand. I'm lucky that my dad makes them but if you know someone that does I'd spend that money once and have something that is perfect for you for a lifetime

Another great production knife is anything Esse. They are mostly 1095 steel. The Izula 2, Esse 3HM, Camplore JG3, etc are all awesome knives that she might really like and would serve well. eseeknives.com/knives/esee-knives/esee-3hm/

For custom knives check out Gene Ingram or Charlie May. Both are great guys.
