Update, Took the wife to a well stocked store an she handled several different kinds of knives picked out a folding knife for now. But did indicate a couple of sheath knives she liked so I will follow up with a custom from here. Thanks for all the imput.

Probably my favorite factory choice is a camulis talon in talonite. Dont know if they still make them. It as rob simonich design and I consider fortunate to have a couple of his original customs (in addition th in to some of the factory ones) and a trace rinaldi in which rob played a role.
On the custom side, there are several good makers and I have many. I'd be inclined to give our forum member Kim a shot. He has some good looking knives.
