Very nice Paul. DW 1911's are great guns. Good choice.

Perfect timing on this post. I am looking at buying the exact same gun to go in the EDC rotation. Looking forward to a range report

I couldn’t stand it any longer. I ordered a DW Guardian for myself Call barranti and get a HH IWB for it. Carried mine 5 days this week, you’ll never know it’s there.

Oh yeah, Barranti kills the IWB design with the Horse Hide pattern.

One of my favorites for sure. I have 5” and 4.25” from him.

Thanks. I ordered a C-Flex IWB from Kelley Gun Leather, I have been using his holsters for years and is my hands down favorite for 1911 holsters

Well poo. The dealer contacted me and said he made a mistake and didn't have any .38 Supers in stock after all and doesn't know when he will get any in. Figures, the price was very good.

Not a whole lot more but since it is available that makes it better! I also found a NIB one that was ordered through the CZ Custom shot with a slight melt and a few enhancements for $1400.

Beautiful pistol. DW builds a damned fine 1911. I've always been curious about the .38Super & am convinced after shooting a friend's that I need a .38Super 1911. I've got a Pointman-7 in .45 that I'll never part with. Either a bobbed Commander or bobbed 5"er in .38Super would do me just right & my 1911 "needs" would be covered.

Bob, one of the most informative and most excellent posts I have had the pleasure if reading ever. Thank you for the links. I too have much time with a Super 38 both behind my hip in a IWB and in front of my hip both banging steel and paper in all kinds of match settings. My current dream Super 38 is a carry comp Commander length with a Trijicon RMR built as light as possible. Just another project away...

Thank you for the complement Mr. 2 Dogs...and you are quite welcome.
The .38 Super is unfortunately one of the least appreciated cartridges in the history of gun making...all because Colt/Browning kept the original headspace on the case rim chamber of the Colt 1903 when the put the round in the 1911. If the Super had been headspaced on the case mouth like the .45 ACP it would never had gained the well deserved reputation as the most inaccurate cartridge/handgun combinations ever made...
The Super is also an excellent revolver round. I have an original S&W PC 686-7 that is a great shooter. It inspired me to have a 649 rechambered to Super and extra cylinders made up for a 3" 66-2 and 3" 60-10. This is a FAR better snubbie round than the .38 Special.
But it is gaining in popularity...now many major manufacturers have .38 Supers....
