Boy, am I ever confused, which, admittedly is a not uncommon state for me.
It seems as if there as many upgrade options for Glocks now as there has been for the 1911 world. I understood it for 1911's, but am confused about the reputed ultra reliable Glock needing that many options. Plus, there are so many manufacturers and brands out there, how do you pick a good one?
Well, except for sights and possibly the trigger. I'm used to getting a Glock competition trigger spring, a Glock 4.5# connector and a set of good nite sights and calling it a day.
What all are you doing to your Glocks, which manufacturers are you selecting for which parts and why?

I like the extended slide-take-down lever the most. $10 and it makes it so much easier to field strip. After that the extended slide stop. Another $15, and definitely worth it for my hands.

Ghost Edge 3.5 connector and Ameriglo sights are my current standard Glock Mods. Been known to stick Alpha Wolf 9mm conversion barrels in 40 cal Glocks too.

Exactly. The best upgrade for a glock.

I tried that 1911 upgrade. It took another $1,000 so it would feed hollow point ammo like a Glock.

Okay, I really do have the rear sight turned around on the two Glocks I own, I hate the white outline. But a cheap easy upgrade for me that I just tried recently is the Ghost bullet forward slide release. ghostinc.com/ghost-bullet-forward-slide-release-combat-black/With my thumbs forward shooting style, I never got slide lock with an empty gun. So my answer in the past was always to grind it off. Worked just fine on the 19's I had and I could still swipe it off with my thumb. When I tried it on a 26 recently, it just didn't work. Maybe the little recoil springs are too strong. I couldn't easily drop the slide with my thumb. But I ran across the Ghost latch and tried it and (at least on the one G26 I put it on) it gets it just forward enough to not be held down by my thumbs and I get slide lock every time. (their pic)

Sevigny carry sights, tritium up front only, by Warren. Skateboard tape from ejection port to rear sight. Extended slide catch and mag eject buttons. IfI did it again I'd look at one of the 3.5 lb connectors.

I prefer a thin front sight (it appears Ameriglo stopped making their Operator fronts), polishing a few of the guts, a 3.5lb pull, and grinding the hook off of the trigger guard. Past those few things, I don't waste any more money on them. I've had to carry one for many years, but can't say I have any attachment to them but they go bang all the time and bullets go where they are pointed.
To me they are like a cheaper kitchen knife. As long as the cheap knife is sharp, they cut as well as the expensive high grade knife but there is a difference.

It’s funny about the 1911and Glock comparison. I used to hear it all the time from guys at work. Why are you spending 2000 on a 1911 to get on to work when all you need to do is buy a Glock, they never fail. I tell them,, from experience.......they can, will and do fail you just haven’t put enough rounds through yours to know. I shot a Glock 34 for many years in USPSA, Have been the Texas Champion in Production, am very good friends with Dave Sevigny and Julie Goloski when they both shot for Glock. The most frustrated I have ever been with a pistol was with my G34 for about 6 months it would simply decide randomly to light strike a primer and not go bang. Once the issue was figured out, it ran for another 5-6 years without a hiccup. Then it decided to to do the same malfunction again, only this time it was impossible for the previous issue to be the problem, because the particular part responsible was no longer in the gun. I narrowed the issue to occurring only whenever a reload was performed, it only happened on the first shot after a mag reload, and it didn’t matter which mag was used or inserted. The G34 in question has over 40k rounds thru it and still shoots great out to 100 yards for 3 gun/multigunpurposes, and with a factory barrel.
All the while my 1911/2011’s all shoot great, and have the same or more rounds thru them. It just doesn’t feel right dragging them thru mud and dust and dirt and getting scratched and abused in rough and tumble multigun matches.
