Ok, to me, this Miha mold is a bit of a no brainer. No less than the designer of the 640 series of cast bullets we have all had so much success with and our resident Meat Hammer, Sixshot Dick Thompson have "divined" this to be an excellent 45 caliber bullet. It not only works well in the 45 Colt but also runs well in the 45 auto and is a proven deer killer in that platform. So, we are going to take a shot at a group buy for this one. As cast diameter will be .453”. This mold will come with 2 HP pins, a Large and Cup pin as well as a Solid option. This is a plain base bullet. Weights as follows:
Solid Pin = 230 grains
Cup HP = 224 gr.
Large HP = 214 gr.
You can request a 2 or 4 cavity mold. Here is what we are looking at:

Groundhogs come unglued when shot with it..... deer die well when shot under 40 yards classic broad side heart shot.

I will check with BobK and find out what diameter we need it to drop at and any other fine print items. It does best as cast at 0.453"...... I'll have to check weights.

Hi JM, any beginners who venture into casting their own with us will have their learning curve accelerated by a good bit. Miha molds are the best I’ve ever used and beginner or not you will be dropping pretty bullets in no time at all. I’m guessing here, but weight will be 230-250 grains or so, and Bob will give us a more exact number soon. These molds are built overseas in Slovenia and a 4 cavity is converted from Euros to something like 154.00 US with a 2 cavity being a little less.

I hope I answered all your questions. If you have other you need only ask. In the meantime, search Hoover, Sixshot, Boolitdesigner, for casting tips as well as sizing and coating. DO NOT search mine. Your wallet would be in extreme danger! LOL:-)

This is a great bullet design for the 45 auto rim or any of the other 45's as well. I'll use it mostly in my Barranti 45 Mountain Gun to calm the nerves of angry badgers, rock chucks, etc. I want the 4 cavity with all pins please. [e-mail]
