As a follow up to my testing the Sledgehammer in the .30 carbine, ran a dozen through it without a bobble, no misfires, cylinder hangups, etc. I'm now working on the 110/Sledgehammer Max load for my Black Hawk......

An update from Team Smallbore Sixgunner Sal:
I finally loaded a sledgehammer in 300 GNR. It fit fine. Is a converted new model Blackhawk 30 carbine. Was a dummy round. Unable to shoot as back has been bad for a few months.
Thanks Sal! Get better soon we need your input!

Fermin I tagged in on the .314 115. The 8 shot Blackhawks in 32 mag. I totally missed the boat on those. Anyone have one with input? I would for sure have to have another cylinder made in 32-20.
I like my buckeye 32-20/32 mag. Granted it is not on my list of packing trail guns. Yet I like the heft for what I do with it. The S7 and I are going to have a discussion. I am going to have to do somthing on grips, even if they are ugly. Once I get a size down I can go from there. I have thoughts about slapping some bondo on the factory scales and working with that tip I get to where I want to be.
I have some feelers out for a 30 carbine and dies. I may snag a TC barrel if one rears its head. Jeff

Going through my notes on the .30 carbine/135gr Sledgehammer project and realized I hadn't added an update to this topic in awhile. As I've mentioned previously, my .30 carbine will chamber .32-20 brass w/o any modification (using my batch of 500 Starline cases). My concern was seating depth of the 135gr HP Sledgehammer and powder capacity (Fermin said the benchmark was 1500+fps from a 7.5" barrel)Two things to report, in my NMB .30 carbine, I can, using the .32-20 brass I have from Starline, seat the 135HP out to the crimping groove thereby using all the powder capacity of the case. In my gun 14.5grs of 110/296 will surpass the 1500fps benchmark easily, as will 15grs 4227. I have got around to putting a scope on the gun and shooting for accuracy yet, so that remains to be done. As an aside, I've also tested the 100gr and 115gr 604 design and they work. SO, for you gents that want a .32-20 but can't afford a custom or Buckeye, get you a .30 carbine NM Blackhawk, a Lee .311 and .309 sizers (taking it from .314 to .309 in two steps), some Starline .32-20 brass, a set of .30 carbine dies and a .32-30 shell holder and take to it. Fermin and BobK have designed what to me is the perfect bullet for the .30 carbine/.32's.

This thread is making me wonder about the feasibility of having my old commercial M1 carbine rebored and rechambered for .327 Federal. Pull the gas piston and use it as a straight pull bolt action since feeding is problematic in it's stock form right now anyway.
Maybe have a Martini Cadet converted. I just checked my .357 Cadet and there's no issues with cartridge length. Hmmm...
