Yeah, a tongue in cheek poke at myself for getting torqued because people use the word irregardless for regardless!

Vaquero, new Vaquero, OM, NM, seems to be the same to me. No, I would not laugh at someone ruining a gun nor would I give out my loads even though they are not hot, only accurate, because of the differences in the guns. But trying to prove a point is useless here because of the attitude of a few. I don't know where this comes from, must be there is always someone that has to at the top of the heap and is afraid to fall off. I attribute those feelings to a lack of confidence and knowledge, just bluff the way up so some will bow down. I don't understand the chip on the shoulder thing unless it is because I can make a revolver shoot and some have seen my posted pictures. I must be a threat instead of a teacher! It think some people here just want the correct firearms nomenclature used in conversation. No more, no less. For instance there is no Old Model Vaquero, only a Vaquero. All Vaqueros are New Model designs as they have a transfer bar safety. Old Model Rugers mean those that were of the original design without a transfer bar safety and had to be loaded like a Colt for safety. So to say Old Model Vaquero is a contradiction of terms. I think a teacher could understand that. Besides if a student of yours turned in a paper with the word boolit, I would think you would correct the spelling in red ink. If you are on a forum where it is the custom to use the term boolit, then go for it. My 5 year old nephew refers to cartidges as boolits....doesn't mean it's right. If "boolit" strikes a nerve on this forum, why pee into the wind just to prove you can?

This is not the first forum on which bfrshooter has served as a lightening rod for argument and criticism due to his statements, his um...all encompassing knowledge and superb shooting. Now after asking novice questions, saying he'll give people loads and laugh when their gun blows up, saying old, new, NM, OM are all the same to him, he bemoans the fact that some here don't want him to be their "teacher", and denies having said what is in plain print 2 or 3 posts ago. This won't be the last such thread involving him for as long as he visits here. I truly dislike making negative posts such as this, and offer my apologies to most for doing so, but I just finally felt compelled. This has been a wonderful site with only a couple of recently bad exceptions that Lee dealt with.

Fighting over words and spelling is just too stupid to respond to. What do you call the old Vaquero? Is it not the old original model? What a strange bunch you have here. I can do one thing and that is to make a rifle or revolver shoot and it seems to bother the elite here when I shoot smaller groups at 100 yards then most here get from a Ransom rest at 25 yards. Strange that my friends also shoot 1/2" groups at 50 yards and knock off pop cans at 100 yards with regularity. I never claimed to be a better shot, only that my guns shoot better then I can shoot them. Even stranger that when I post a picture, the thread dies. Watch how fast this group from my OM Vaquero shot at 50 yards from Creedmore position closes this thread. My OM Vaquero has done many groups under 1" at 75 yards.

OH, MY, a revolver can't do that! ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) How about an MOA, 7BR at 100 and 200 yards? Shot from Creedmore, no bags, no Ransom rest. ![](http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg3/bfrshooter/Moanew.jpg)

Dang, haven't been here for a couple of days, and things quickly go to hell in a handbasket.
I write for a living, and I can say with certainty that most folks -- educated or not -- can't put a sentence together to save their lives. So what. I'm not getting paid to edit people's posts, so I won't.
We're here to swap information. Now can we get back on topic?

Not enough, How about my little 7R pistol at 200 yards? Hey, guys, post what you do for everyone to see. OOPS, don't want to take any of you away from 7 yards or the fantastic distance of 25 yards. The only thing I see here is a bunch of talk, keyboard shooting, ivory tower people that know it all. I DO NOT KNOW IT ALL and am still learning and wish some of you had some more knowledge to share but see it is a lost cause. Position on the site means more. My goal was always to pass on what I have learned, I am almost 72. The resistance is unreal. What the hell makes some of you so smart that you quit learning and worry about words instead. I guess I have nothing to share, it is your loss, not mine! ![](http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg3/bfrshooter/Wichitanew.jpg)

Anyone ever try to push a .458 bullet down a.451 bore? .007 isn't that much... We could be real nice to 2 Dogs and get him to send us a favorite 45 Colt for some testing....

John, you're not doing a whole lot to quell this. Let it go........ YOU ARE RIGHT, OF COURSE, BUT IT IS DIFFICULT TO LET A PASS STATEMENT CLAIMING TO SHOOT BETTER AT 100 YARDS WITH A FIXED SIGHTED VAQUERO NO LESS THAN MOST CAN DO WITH A RANSOM REST AT 25 YARDS. THAT IS HARDER TO SWALLOW THAN A POLITICIAN'S PROMISE.

I thought that bfrshooter would've toned down his claims to be more believable after the 2.5"@500yds bit but I guess I was wrong. His credibility is in the toilet and few if any will ever take another post of his seriously. Period.
PS, it is Vaquero and New Vaquero. No need for anything more.
